With a deep sigh of annoyance, Jiro Kobayashi expressed his regret, saying, “I just arrived in Aurous Hill this morning. After going through immigration, I came straight here. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the chance to visit the gym to watch Miss Ito’s match today. I heard she won against her opponent in just one round! It’s a pity I couldn’t see her perform!”
“You’re too kind, Mr. Kobayashi,” replied Nanako Ito gracefully.
“From now on, I promise to attend every one of Miss Ito’s games to cheer her on!” Jiro added enthusiastically.
“Actually, Kobayashi Pharmaceutical is sponsoring the finals of this tournament. I’ll personally present the trophy to the champion. I’m eagerly looking forward to that day when I can hand the trophy to Miss Ito!”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
With humility, Nanako Ito responded, “Mr. Kobayashi, until the final game is yed, we can’t know who will emerge as champion. While I’m confident in my abilities, I wouldn’t dare assume victory.”
Jiro Kobayashi quickly reassured her, “I have faith that Miss Ito will do wonderfully!”
Nanako Ito smiled, recalling her father’s instructions, and said, “Mr. Kobayashi, it’s noon now. Why don’t you join me for lunch?”
Upon hearing this, Jiro Kobayashi felt a surge of excitement and eximed, “It would be a great honor to have lunch with Miss Ito!”
Nanako turned to Koichi Tanaka and instructed, “Tanaka, please apany us to the restaurant in the presidential suite and arrange for lunch for Mr. Kobayashi and me.”
Though Nanako Ito is the eldest daughter of a prominent family in Japan, she has always been independent, rarely requiring the assistance of numerous attendants like many from wealthy backgrounds. Today, however, she preferred not to be alone with Jiro Kobayashi and decided to keep Tanaka nearby as afort.
Hiroshi Tanaka nodded in agreement at the eldestdy’s request. Jiro Kobayashi assumed that Nanako was simply ustomed to having service during meals, so he didn’t think much of it; after all, even dining in a restaurant typically involves waitstaff.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, Nanako Ito took a seat across from Jiro Kobayashi.
The spacious and luxurious restaurant, located within the presidential suite, featured a rectangr western dining table that couldfortably amodate at least twelve people.
Seated across from each other, the distance between them allowed Nanako Ito to feel a bit more at ease.
After they were seated, Jiro Kobayashi initiated the conversation, asking, “Miss Ito, you’ve been here for quite some time, haven’t you?”
Nanako Ito nodded, responding, “I’ve been here for twenty days.”
Jiro inquired further, “May I ask if you’re enjoying your time in Aurous Hill? It’s quite a beautiful city.”
Nanako Ito responded with mild curiosity, “Mr. Kobayashi, have you visited Aurous Hill before?”
“Oh, this is my first time,” Jiro Kobayashi sighed, adding, “To be honest, Aurous Hill holds a somber significance for me. If it weren’t for your participation in thispetition, I wouldn’t have wanted toe here, regardless of the city’s beauty.”
Surprised, Nanako Ito asked, “What do you mean, Mr. Kobayashi?”
Feigning sadness, Jiro exined, “I have an older brother who rebelled against our family, and he caused our father great pain…”
“Our family issued a kill order to clean up the mess. Tragically, my brother was killed by a bounty hunter not long ago in Aurous Hill. I still don’t even know where his body has been buried…”
