With ire showing her agreement, Stefanie smiled brightly and remarked, “I must say, I didn’t expect Mrs. Wade to be so open-minded. I was concerned you might disagree.”
ire quickly responded, “Ms. Sun, I truly appreciate my husband’s talents. I’m thrilled to have this opportunity. How could I possibly disagree? If my husband falls short, please be patient with us.”
“Not at all!” Stefanie replied with a grin. “I have great faith in Mr. Wade’s abilities, and I believe my father and family feel the same. I want to express my gratitude to you, Mrs. Wade, for making this happen!”<fne469> Read full story at F?ndNovel</fne469>
Feeling a bit ttered, ire replied, “Miss Sun, you’re too kind.”
As Charlie observed Stefanie subtly sending mixed signals, he felt a wave of helplessness wash over him.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
He realized that while she was speaking to him, her words were also directed at ire, serving as a kind of show for her benefit.
Yet, he felt utterly powerless to intervene.
This predicament stemmed from his debt to Stefanie and the fact that he had disregarded their parents’ arranged marriage. He felt he had no right to confront her.
What troubled Charlie even more was the knowledge that he couldn’t simply dismiss Stefanie as he had with Loreen.
While Loreen had affection for him, he felt no obligation to reciprocate since he had saved her life multiple times; rejecting her didn’t weigh on his conscience.
Stefanie, however, was different.
She was a close rtive who had been searching for him, waiting for him, and holding out hope for so many years. He felt responsible for the situation they were in.
Meanwhile, ire, unaware of the deeper dynamics at y, gathered her courage and asked Stefanie, “Miss Sun, may I take a photo with you?”
Stefanie readily agreed, smiling as she said, “Of course! Should we take it now?”
ire nodded eagerly, “If it’s convenient for you, let’s do it now!”
Stefanie moved her chair closer to ire and said with a warm smile, “Mrs. Wade, you look stunning! I feel a bit nervous taking a photo next to you.”
“Not at all…” ire replied, feeling a bit shy. “I’m the one under pressure! You’re not just beautiful but also a well-known star. I can’t help but feel embarrassed standing next to you…”
