For Loreen, Charlie has always seemed a bit distant.
His feelings for Loreen were minimal, especially considering that she was a close friend of his wife. He felt it was best to maintain some distance.
However, it was quite unexpected when they found themselves sitting next to each other on a ne.
Loreen was in high spirits and naturally gravitated towards Charlie, asking, “Hey, Charlie, how long are you nning to stay in Eastcliff this time?”
Charlie replied, “It’s hard to say. It all depends on how quickly the work gets done. If things go well, I might be here for two or three days; if not, it could stretch to four or five.”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Loreen’s excitement was palpable: “Oh, I’ve booked my ticket for four days from now! What about you? When are you flying back? Can we return together?”
Charlie honestly responded, “I haven’t booked my return flight yet. Let’s see how things go first. It’s still uncertain.”
Loreen quickly said, “Alright, once you finish your tasks, let me know. I’ll see if our schedules can align, and if so, we can travel back together.”
Internally, Charlie felt a bit resistant, but he maintained a calm exterior as he replied, “We’ll have to see when the timees. There’s still a lot of unpredictability.”
Loreen, oblivious to his indifference, nodded in agreement.
Then, she asked curiously, “So, what’s keeping you busy? How have you been?”
Charlie answered, “I’m not too busy, just asionally doing some Feng Shui consultations and mostly staying at home.”
Loreen inquired carefully, “Since ire returned, her mother hasn’t given you any trouble, right?”
“No,” Charlie smiled, “She’s much more settled nowpared to before.”
Loreen genuinely sighed with relief, “That’s wonderful to hear! I was worried Aunt ine might be difficult for you at home. I’m d she’s calmed down!”
Charlie nodded slightly, then took out his phone to send a message on WeChat to Stefanie: “Daisy, can you send me your home address? I’ll be there today.”
Stefanie promptly responded with a voice message, asking excitedly, “Charlie, are you reallying today?”
“Yes,” Charlie confirmed. “I wrapped up my work herest night and decided to book a ticket for today.”
Stefanie quickly replied, “What time do yound? I’lle pick you up at the airport!”
Considering her celebrity status and the potential for paparazzi, Charlie said, “No need to bother. Just send me the location, and I’ll manage on my own.”
Stefanie insisted, “Absolutely not! I’m picking you up! Don’t worry, I’ll dress down so I won’t be recognized.”
“It’s really not necessary,” Charlie replied. “Paparazzi are relentless. Many celebrities think they’re hidden well, only to be caught by the cameras.”
Stefanie sighed in defeat, “Fine, I’ll send you the locationter. Can you be there around noon? I’ll have lunch ready for you!”
Charlie pondered for a moment, “That should work, so I’ll take you up on that.”<fn798c> Latest content published on FindN0vel</fn798c>
Stefanie smiled warmly, saying, “I won’t tell my parents just yet. I’ll say an old friend is visiting. They’ll be thrilled when they see you!”
Charlie felt a wave of warmth at her words.<h3 ss="has-text-align-center" id="chapter-list"><strong></strong>
