As Orrin entered the office, the sound of nging echoed like an abacus being struck. The door swung open with force.
Orrin stepped in, his face flushed but surprisingly calm, walking confidently into the room.
Close behind him was Charlie, who followed him into the meeting space.
Everyone in the conference room—including Hank and Carl—was taken aback by Orrin’s vibrant demeanor!
Hank and Carl exchanged nces, their unspoken thoughts aligning perfectly: “How could our ailing eldest brother appear so revitalized overnight? This transformation seems too dramatic for just one night!”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
The other board members, having not seen Orrin in quite some time and influenced by recent news reports suggesting he was gravely ill, had steeled themselves for a very different scene. They half-expected Orrin to arrive in a wheelchair, oxygen mask in ce.
So, when they witnessed his energetic entrance, it left everyone utterly astounded.
Is this really the chairman everyone has been reading about in the media, supposedly on the brink of death?
In fact, he appeared to be in even better shape than before his illness!
Is this what people refer to when they say someone has made a remarkable recovery?
It certainly didn’t fit the narrative; Orrin looked like a robust middle-aged man, utterly unscathed by illness!<fn8373> ???? ????s? ???????s ?? fι?dnοvel</fn8373>
Carl discreetly nudged Hank and asked, bewildered, “Second brother, what is going on here?”
Hank clenched his teeth and shook his head in confusion: “I have no idea!”
By this time, Orrin had taken his ce at the central seat in front of the conference table, gesturing for Charlie to sit to his right.
Once seated, Orrin scanned the room with a fierce gaze and spoke with authority: “Everyone, I sincerely apologize for my absence from the grouptely. I appreciate your hard work in keeping things running smoothly.”
The room fell silent, with everyone exchanging nces, unsure of how to respond.
This uncertainty wasrgely due to the fact that many small shareholders had been persuaded by Hank and Carl to support a motion to oust Orrin from the board today.
However, seeing Orrin looking so well left them at a loss for how to proceed.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, Hank felt a surge of panic, but he understood that he needed to act quickly to regain control; otherwise, all of his ns for the day could fall apart.
He boldly spoke up: “Chairman, considering your absence from the group’s affairs for so long, don’t you think it’s a bit irresponsible for you to take the chair when we’ve all worked so hard?”
Orrin nodded thoughtfully, a smile on his face as he replied, “You make a valid point. I ept that I haven’t been aspetent as I should have been during this time. That’s why I didn’t say much earlier. I genuinely appreciate all of your efforts during this challenging period.”
He continued, “Over the past 20 years, you have all stood by me in the business world. I’ve been fortunate not to let you down, and together we’ve built thispany into what it is today. Throughout those two decades of rapid growth, I’ve never taken undue credit or abandoned any of myrades. Although I’ve been away for a month or two for personal reasons, I hope you can remember my dedication over these 20 years. Should I really be med?”
At this, the surrounding shareholders instinctively shook their heads and responded in unison: “Of course not, Chairman! How could we me you?”
