The front desk staff was taken aback by the ghastly look on his face. He stammered, “I’m truly sorry, sir! The assistants of the two esteemed guests have made it very clear that they don’t have time to meet with you, so please don’t put us in an awkward position…”
Ryoto Matsumoto’s previously unshakeable confidence was instantly shattered by the front desk girl’s words!
He shouted almost in a frenzy, “My name is Ryoto Matsumoto, not ‘this gentleman’! Do you even get that?”
The front desk girl stepped back, clearly frightened. “I sincerely apologize, Mr. Matsumoto. I’m just rying what the guests’ assistants told me. Please forgive me…”
In the lobby, onlookers were keenly observing Matsumoto’s outburst.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
They whispered amongst themselves in small groups. Although their words were inaudible, Matsumoto could see from their expressions that they were all mocking him!
He had always been conceited, believing he was at the pinnacle among young Japanese executives. To his dismay, after making the effort to meet with them, the guests had no interest in seeing him! This ignited a deep resentment within Matsumoto. He clenched his fists and gritted his teeth, his anger bubbling beneath the surface. Those who are exceedingly confident can often crumble under pressure; the more they believe they deserve attention, the more they fear being disregarded by others. Ryoto Matsumoto exemplified this perfectly.
At that moment, he was simmering with rage, yet he had no outlet for it. His flushed face only fueled the disdainful whispers from the crowd. Even though many might not possess the wealth or influence of Mr. Matsumoto, witnessing his public humiliation gave them a sense of dark satisfaction. As theughter grew louder, Matsumoto’s assistant rushed to his side and whispered, “Boss, let’s leave. We wouldn’t want anyone to whip out their phone and capture this for the inte. It could lead to a bacsh that’s difficult to manage…”
Matsumoto gritted his teeth and nodded slightly. As he turned to leave, he felt as though the world wasughing at him from behind. He forced himself to return to his car, urging the driver to take off immediately. He feared that lingering too long would only invite more ridicule, and he dreaded the thought of hearing their mockingughter echo in his ears.
His assistant, trying to console him, said, “Boss, the Banks Family likely thinks our overall strength pales inparison to Takahashi and Ito. They probably view us merely as an option for potential cooperation and don’t want to waste their time with us. But this will surely be their loss!”
Matsumoto remained silent for a long moment, his eyes bloodshot with anger. Finally, he gritted his teeth and dered, “They want to choose between Takahashi and Ito? Fine! If they don’t value our partnership, then they shouldn’t me me for retaliating! This is the perfect chance for me to leap ahead of both Takahashi and Ito!”
The assistant looked puzzled. “Boss, I… I don’t quite understand what you mean…”<fn565c> Follow current nov?ls on find?novel</fn565c>
Mr. Matsumoto responded coldly, his expression fierce, “You don’t need toprehend, just follow my instructions!”
The assistant quickly replied, “Of course, Boss. Just give your orders!”
Ryoto Matsumoto continued with a steely tone, “First, I want you to prepare a check for 20 million dors. Take it to the head of the Iga family and let him know it’s just a deposit. If he’s interested, he cane to my ce to discuss further. If he’s not interested, then consider the money a gift from me!”
