Lori responded in order, “Hello, Mr. Wade…”
At that moment, Loreen rose from her seat, a hint of embarrassment on her face, as she greeted, “Hello, Ms. Young…”
Ms. Young, surprised to see Loreen, eximed, “Oh my, Loreen, you’re here as well? I thought you went home!”
Loreen replied awkwardly, “Um… I’ll be heading to the airportter.”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Meanwhile, Sam, who was observing from the side, felt a spark ignite in his eyes the moment heid eyes on Ms. Young!
Despite having encountered many beautiful women, he had never before seen such a captivating presence in a workce setting, leaving him with a thrilling sensation.
He instinctively stood up and turned to Loreen, asking, “Loreen, aren’t you going to introduce me to this stunningdy?”
Loreen quickly introduced, “Oh right, Ms. Young, let me introduce you. This is my cousin, Sam Kilgore.”
Then, she looked back at Sam, saying, “Cousin, this is Doris Young, the vice chairman of our Emgrand Group.”
Sam immediately extended his hand andplimented, “Wow, I’ve heard a lot about you, Ms. Young! Seeing you in person, I can see why you’re so renowned! I’m Sam, a member of the Eastcliff Kilgore family.”
Lori gave a polite nod and replied, “It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
However, Ms. Young didn’t seem surprised by Sam’s background.
Having worked at Emgrand Group for a significant time, she had encountered various influential families and had some knowledge about the Kilgore family of Eastcliff.
Moreover, she was familiar with Charlie, the young master of the Wade family, and thus was not easily impressed by Sam’s title.
Sam had hoped that stepping away from his identity as the young master of the Kilgore family would help him leave a favorable impression on Ms. Young.
To his disappointment, Ms. Young appeared indifferent to his status, showing no signs of interest.
This left Sam feeling a bit disheartened. He thought to himself: “I wanted to make Ms. Young my primary target; if I could win her over, my year in Aurous Hill would be far less dull…”
“But this Ms. Young doesn’t seem to be impressed with me at all. She’s just a professional manager with a sry that’s nowhere near my status; why is she acting so high and mighty?”
Determined not to give up, he continued, “Ms. Young, I’ve heard you have exceptional talent and are a real asset in the business world. If you ever consider expanding to Eastcliff, our Kilgore Group would dly wee you as a vice chairman. The sry would certainly exceed what you earn at Emgrand.”<fn14c9> Readplete version only at ?ovelFind</fn14c9>
Sam expected to entice Ms. Young with the promise of a lucrative offer, but to his surprise, she shook her head firmly, replying, “Thank you, Mr. Kilgore, for your kind offer, but I’m quite satisfied at Emgrand Group and have no intention of changing jobs.”
Feeling a bit disheartened but still unwilling to back down, Sam pressed on, “Ms. Young, Aurous Hill is quite limited in terms of opportunities. Moving to Eastcliff would be much better for your career. As the saying goes, the sea is vast enough for fish to leap, and the sky is high enough for birds to soar!”
At that moment, Sam was so focused on charming Ms. Young that he overlooked the presence of Charlie, someone he couldn’t afford to offend.
In fact, he didn’t see any issue with pursuing Ms. Young in front of Charlie, reasoning that even though he had been sent to Aurous Hill for a year of punishment, Charlie hadn’t explicitly forbidden him from dating.
Charlie, however, saw right through Sam’s intentions and thought, “This Sam really can’t change his ways; he’s always trying to unt his Kilgore family status. If that’s the case, I’ll extend his punishment and let him stay in Aurous Hill for two more years!”
With this decision in mind, he quickly sent a WeChat message to Stefanie: “Daisy, please inform your cousin Trevor to let the Kilgore family know that Sam’s punishment in Aurous Hill has been extended for another two years and have them notify him immediately.”
Stefanie replied promptly, “Charlie, did Sam upset you again while in Aurous Hill?”
Charlie responded, “It’s not that he’s caused me trouble, but his antics in front of me are getting a bit tiresome!”
