Tokyo time: 2:50 AM.
Charlie’s private ne touched down at Narita Airport.
This time, he was alone, making the journey to Tokyo by himself.
Throughout the flight, Charlie had been connected to the ne’s wirelesswork, as it was the only means ofmunication avable on board.
He kept a close watch on Jasmine’s avatar in WeChat, eagerly awaiting her message.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Unfortunately, Jasmine had not responded.
After more than two hours in the air, anxiety flooded Charlie’s mind, and his spirits began to plummet.
He couldn’t help but imagine the worst-case scenario: what if Jasmine was truly gone? How would he cope?
Even though he had brought the Rejuvenation Pill with him, its miraculous properties could not truly restore life to the deceased.
If Jasmine was really lost to him, no amount of rejuvenation would change that!
While there were references to higher-level pills in the Apocalyptic Book, the knowledge was far tooplex for Charlie to grasp, and he simplycked the means to attain it.
With that in mind, all he could do was fervently hope that Jasmine was still alive.
Or, at the very least, if she was clinging to life, he could save her!
Once he disembarked from the ne, Charlie hurried through customs.
At the exit, he spotted Nanako waiting for him.
Her heart raced with joy upon seeing him, and she rushed over in a few quick steps, her eyes sparkling with excitement and admiration. “Charlie, you’re here…”
Charlie nodded and immediately asked, “Nanako, did your people find anything?”
Nanako responded quickly, “The ninjas I dispatched just reported back. They located the vehicle involved in Miss Moore’s ident, and three bodies were found at the site—two women and one man…”
“What?!”
Charlie’s heart raced, and he questioned anxiously, “Have the bodies been identified?”
Nanako exined, “The male corpse is confirmed to be Miss Moore’s driver. One of the two female bodies has been ruled out as Miss Moore, and the other, which was burned beyond recognition on the passenger side, likely isn’t her either since she was sitting there.”
Charlie pressed further, “So there’s no one else at the scene? If not, where could Jasmine have gone? Could that burned body be her?”
Nanako added, “Here’s the thing: my ninja reported that fresh footprints were found at the scene, indicating someone must have escaped before the vehicle caught fire.”
With a sense of urgency, Nanako continued, “The ninja said this is incredible because the scene was horrific—themercial vehicle fell hundreds of meters from a cliff and then spontaneouslybusted. Under those circumstances, even a ninja would struggle to survive, yet this person not only survived but was able to move. It’s truly miraculous!”
Charlie’s relief washed over him at that moment!
It seemed that the survivor who had escaped was likely Jasmine herself.<fnc824> Fresh chapters posted on find·novel</fnc824>
