<h1>Xion and Charlie’s Unexpected Moment</h1>
Xion was taken aback by Charlie’s candid admission about noticing her legs. His openness and ease caught her off guard, causing her previous frustration to fade away. With her initial usations against him now feeling misced, she found herself at a loss for words. The flicker of anger she had felt began to dissipate, reced by a sense of confusion.
Feeling shy, she cast a quick nce at Charlie before looking away, whispering with a hint of embarrassment, “If you’ve seen enough, could you please help me with the treatment?”
Charlie smiled and nodded, “Sure, let’s get started on the treatment right away.”
Xion, almost instinctively, asked, “Is it really enough to just look so soon?”<fn6a12> For original chapters go to find?novel</fn6a12>
Realizing her words might have sounded wrong, she quickly added, “Uh, no… I didn’t mean it that way. I just meant… if you’ve seen enough, let’s begin…”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
As she spoke, a trace of disappointment crept into her voice.
Charlie, with a light smile, replied without hesitation, “As your doctor, I must say your legs are indeed beautiful. However, I need to address the wound promptly.”
With that, he gently grasped Xion’s thigh with one hand, while holding a pair of pliers in the other. “The crossbow arrow has barbs, so I’ll need to cut it from the tail and pull it out from both sides. It might hurt a bit, so brace yourself.”
Xion nodded softly, “I’m ready. I can handle it.”
Charlie replied with a reassuring hum and carefully began to cut the arrow. “Alright, I’ll count to three and then pull it out. Be mentally prepared,” he instructed.
Xion quickly responded, “Okay!”
“Let’s begin. One… two…” Charlie started counting.
Just as he finished saying “two,” Xion experienced a sharp pain in her leg, causing her to cry out, “Oh, that hurts! Didn’t you say you’d count to three? Why did you pull it out on two?”
Charlie chuckled softly, “I like to keep things surprising. If I counted to three, what if you suddenly jerked your leg back?”
With tears welling in her eyes from the pain, Xion replied, “You can’t just spring surprises on me like that! It’s so painful, and I wasn’t prepared at all…”
“But you’re a seasoned warrior,” Charlie teased. “Why can’t you handle this little pain?”
Xion pouted, “That was really painful! Being injured by a cold weapon hurts much more than a bullet wound…”
Charlie smiled gently, “Pain is pain. It’s all over now. I’ll clean the wound, sterilize it, apply some anti-infection medicine, and bandage it up. You’ll be fine.”
Xion nodded, then asked, “You’re not going to use alcohol to sterilize it, are you? That would hurt even more…”
Charlie shook his head, “Alcohol isn’t suitable for this. I’ll use some iodine instead. Don’t worry, it won’t hurt as much as alcohol.”
Relieved, Xion watched as Charlie brought out a bottle of iodophor. He used metal tweezers to take a clean cotton ball, dipped it in the iodophor, and applied it gently to her wounds.
Iodophor is an effective antiseptic for cleaning and sterilizing wounds, and indeed, it caused her much less pain than alcohol would have.
