After all, Master Wade Wade, revered as the true dragon of the world, manded respect from Rueben, who dared not show any signs of neglect.
As Charlie approached on his own, Rueben quickly stepped forward with a respectful greeting, saying, “Master Wade, it’s great to see you!”
Charlie gave a slight nod and, sounding a bit apologetic, replied, “Rueben, I did everything I could for Jasmine…”
Charlie intentionally focused on the phrase “I did everything I could,” leaving out any specifics about the oue. Rueben, hearing this, immediately interpreted it as akin to a doctor informing a family after failing to save a patient.
Consequently, Rueben filled in the gaps of Charlie’s unsaid words, thinking, “It seems Charlie couldn’t find any trace of Jasmine. Now that he’s back in China, he must have given up the search. This means my father and I can finally breathe easy…”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
With a sense of relief in his heart, Rueben feigned deep sorrow and graciously said, “Master Wade, you traveled all the way to Japan for Jasmine and invested so much effort. The Moore family is truly grateful…”
“If Jasmine is really gone, I believe her spirit will be touched by your sincerity…”
Charlie looked at Rueben with a serious expression and said, “Rueben, there are times when I still hold onto a glimmer of hope, praying for a miracle to ur. What if a miracle does happen and Jasmine suddenly reappears before us? Wouldn’t that be a joyous asion for everyone?”
Rueben felt a wave of difort wash over him, as if he had swallowed something unpleasant.
Internally, he cursed, “Pray for a miracle? I’d rather pray for your mother’s miracle! Let’s just hope that miracle doesn’t involve Jasmine showing up in front of me. I wouldn’t even want to see her body. If that happens, I’d have to arrange a funeral, which would not only drain money but also force me to feign grief in front of everyone!”
However, he maintained a pious facade and replied, “Master Wade, you’re absolutely right. I too hope that one day, the miracle you mentioned wille to pass…”
He quickly added, “Master Wade, once today’s press conference concludes, I’ll head to the Temple to light incense and pray for Jasmine! The Temple is particrly effective for making wishes. I often visit and know the abbot well; I’ll ask him to pray for Jasmine!”
Charlie smiled lightly and said calmly, “There’s no need for that; you shouldn’t go to the Temple anymore.”
Rueben was taken aback and asked in surprise, “Master Wade… what do you mean by that?”
Charlie patted him on the shoulder and replied, “It’s nothing, just that the Temple isn’t working for you.”
Rueben, bewildered, asked, “Why would I have a problem with the Temple, Master Wade? It has proven effective…”
Charlie answered calmly, “Trust me, you’ll soon realize the Temple isn’t effective at all.”
Rueben, still unclear, thought Charlie might be referring to Feng Shui and asked, “Master Wade, are the monks at the Temple all deceivers?”
Charlie waved his hand dismissively, “Not necessarily deceivers; perhaps their methods simply fall short.”
He then added, “Alright, let’s change the subject. We should head inside; isn’t your press conference about to start?”
Rueben quickly replied, “Yes, the press conference is about to begin. Master Wade, pleasee in!”
With Rueben leading the way, Charlie entered the conference venue. Rueben seated him in the VIP section at the front row and, with an apologetic expression, said, “I’m really sorry, Master Wade, but I need to attend the presentation now. I won’t be able to stay with you. If you need anything, just ask the staff.”
Charlie nodded and responded, “Alright, go ahead.”
Rueben graciously said, “Thank you, Master Wade. I’ll take my leave now.”
With that, he turned and headed towards the backstage lounge.
A few momentster, a female secretary took to the podium and announced, “We appreciate the presence of our esteemed guests and media friends. Today, the Moore Group has important news to share with the public. Please give a warm wee to our board members!”<fnaaa3> Checktest chapters at find[?]ovel</fnaaa3>
