    Zara nodded gravely. “I don’t care about wealth or power. Being a girl means I won’t inherit much, but you are in a different position. If Dad can’t recover from this, your future will be at stake.”


    Fitz buried his face in his hands, sorrowfully admitting, “But what can I do? I can see how eager Grandpa is to shift the me. Dad is the easiest target for that.” He added, “And the idea of him being used of betraying his own daughter is too cruel. If that sticks, he’ll be seen as heartless, and there’s no way Grandpa would allow him to inherit the title of Patriarch of the Banks Family.” With a resigned sigh, he continued, “Our family may never recover from this.”
