This is Charlie’s reason for keeping Xion around. He intended to send Xion back to Eastcliff at the appropriate moment. Without dy, he put his phone away and elerated the battery-powered bike. The little eBike buzzed to life and sped off quickly.
As Charlie exited the Thompson First Community, he made a right turn on his bike, heading toward Isaac Cameron’s hotel. Suddenly, he heard a familiar voice behind him, tinged with a hint of nervousness: “Brother-inw!”
Charlie instinctively turned to see a familiar woman waving at him from the sidewalk behind.
“Wendy?” he asked, perplexed as he recognized her. It had only been a short while since his family and the Wilson family had a falling out. During that time, they hadn’t even exchanged greetings when they crossed paths. In fact, if his mother-inw ine spotted Wendy on the vi terrace, she would likely scold her for an hour.
So, Charlie was left wondering what Wendy wanted from him. Moreover, why was she calling him brother-inw now? Hadn’t she previously referred to him as worthless?<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
With a frown, he inquired, “What do you need?”
Wendy hurried a couple of steps closer to him and, feeling a bit ashamed, replied, “Brother-inw, where are you going?”
Charlie responded coolly, “I’m just going to buy groceries. What do you want?”
Wendy bit her lip nervously and asked, “Brother-inw, could you take me to the Pearl River Regency? It’s not far, and the eBike can get us there in about twenty minutes.”
Charlie looked her up and down, noting her formal attire and light makeup. He smirked and remarked, “You, a dignified Miss Wilson, want to ride my electric bike? Isn’t that beneath you? Are you trying to pull a stunt like before?”
Wendy’s head drooped in shame at his words. At that moment, memories flooded back of the time she had sat in Gerald White’s Bentley, looking down at Charlie when he rode this very eBike.
“Back then, I didn’t think much of Charlie. I regarded him as nothing more than a soft rice king, and I never even spared him a nce.”
“Yet, here we are, more than half a yearter. Charlie has be a prominent figure in Aurous Hill, while I’m struggling to make ends meet, barely scraping by with just two hundred dors.”
“I’ve even been reluctant to spend money on a bus or taxi to help support my family.”
Summoning her courage, she spoke humbly, “Brother-inw, please don’t tease me. My family is really going through a tough time right now, and I’m still a youngdy of the Wilson family.”
After speaking, she lifted her head, her eyes glistening with tears, feeling overwhelmed with guilt. “I realize that I was wrong about everything. I shouldn’t have looked down on you or fought you at every turn, opposing ire. Life has taught me many lessons, and I havee to see my mistakes. I hope you can forgive me and stop treating me as a stranger.” Charlie was momentarily taken aback.
He hadn’t anticipated Wendy would express such sentiments. What surprised him more was the sincerity in her tone and demeanor; it was evident that her words came from the heart, not merely for show.
Seeing Wendy genuinely apologizing and acknowledging her faults, Charlie softened his demeanor slightly, remarking, “Recognizing your mistakes is the first step toward correction. If you truly understand what you did wrong, it’s never toote to change.” <fn4dae> ?? ??? ???? ?? ???? ???? ???????s, ????s? ??s?? find[?]ovel</fn4dae>
