At this moment, the inner door was quietly pushed open.
A middle-aged woman stepped out and inquired, “Ms. Young, has Walter left?”
This woman is none other than Sydney Young, the mother of Doris Young.
Doris Young quickly wiped away her tears, turned to her mother, and nodded, saying, “Yes, Mom, he’s gone.”
She then anxiously asked, “Mom, how is Dad?”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Sydney sighed and replied, “It’s still the same. He hasn’t woken up.”
Noticing Doris’s tears, Sydney hurried over, concern etched on her face. “Doris, why are you upset? Did Walter say something to you? Did you manage to find the kidney for your dad? What did he say?”
Doris Young sighed heavily and whispered, “I found a potential source for the kidney, but he wants me to work for him and also be his lover.”
“What?!” Sydney eximed, her eyes widening in shock. “Isn’t he just your old ssmate? How can he be so shameless?!”
Doris Young responded with a sense of helplessness, “I never expected this. A few years after graduation, he’s turned into someone like this.”<fn5ec6> This update is avable on FindN()vel</fn5ec6>
Sydney quickly suggested, “Can we offer him more money? If the kidney source is worth 2 million, let’s give him 4 million or even 6 million—whatever it takes to ensure he helps us find a kidney and that your father can get the transnt in time. We’ll do whatever it takes!”
Doris Young shook her head firmly, saying, “Walter’s father is a well-known real estate tycoon in the United States. Their family is incredibly wealthy, with assets worth tens of billions of dors. Money won’t sway him.”
As tears streamed down her face, Sydneymented, “What are we going to do? Your dad has rh-negative blood, which is incredibly rare—only one in 100,000 people have it. Finding a match is already difficult, and finding someone willing to donate is even harder.”
With a heavy heart, she continued, “The doctor said your father might onlyst three months. If we can’t find a kidney soon, there’s no hope for him!”
Doris Young nodded, her expression pained. “Mom, please don’t cry. Just give me some time to find a kidney source.”
Sydney, unable to hide her anxiety, sobbed, “The doctor warned that given your father’s condition, we might only have twenty to thirty days. Even if we find a kidney by then, he may not be strong enough for the surgery.”
Doris Young nodded solemnly. “You can count on me. I will do everything I can to find a solution.”
Sydney nodded slightly, her body shaking with tears.
At that moment, Doris Young said softly, “Mom, you stay here for a bit. I’m going to step outside for some fresh air.”
“Okay, you go ahead,” Sydney replied.
Doris Young exited the ward and made her way to the courtyard below the hospital’s inpatient department. Night had fallen, bringing with it a chill in the air, and few people were in the yard.<h3 ss="has-text-align-center" id="chapter-list"><strong></strong>
