The Amazing son in law Chapter 2352

Doris Young expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you so much, Master!”<fnaa23> Original content can be found at FindN()vel</fnaa23>

Charlie responded with a calm smile, “It’s alright, no need to be so formal with me.”

Wanting to keep Doris upied so she wouldn’t linger on her own issues, Charlie was about to suggest she focus on her family matters. Just then, he heard a man’s voice through the phone: “Ms. Young, we have discovered the source of your father’s poisoning!”

In that moment, Doris Young was still on the line with Charlie, but the news made her forget everything else. She anxiously asked, “Captain Lance, where is the source of the poisoning you mentioned?!”

Captain Lance, withtex gloves on, held up a thick book and exined, “Our investigators found that this book contains mercury dichloride.” He continued, “We’ve also noted that the traces on this book are very fresh, suggesting that your father has been reading it frequently.”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">

Doris nodded slightly, acknowledging, “Yes, my father does have that reading habit. I’ve pointed out before that it’s unsanitary, but that generation was ustomed to it, so he never corrected it…”

Donald Lance agreed, saying, “Then it seems likely that the excess mercury dichloride in your father’s system originated from this book!”

Doris felt a shock as she blurted out, “Captain Lance, could it be that someone poisoned my dad on purpose?!”

Donald nodded, noting, “Given how the mercury dichloride is finely powdered and spread on the pages, it’s nearly colorless and tasteless, making it difficult to detect. It’s reasonable to assume this was done intentionally by someone very cautious and observant.”

Anger bubbled within Doris as she eximed, “My father dedicated his life to educating others and has never wronged anyone. Who could be so cruel as to harm him?!”

Captain Lance pressed her for details: “Do you know how this book came into your possession?”

Doris quickly replied, “My father received it shortly before the Chinese New Year. It was delivered by a courier.”

Donald Lance’s eyes lit up with interest. “Who was the sender?!” he asked eagerly.

Doris shook her head, “The courier didn’t provide any sender information. However, there was a note inside from someone iming to be a former student of my dad’s. They mentioned finding the book abroad and thought my father would appreciate it, so they sent it to him.”

Captain Lance frowned and asked, “No sender information at all? Did you find that suspicious?”

With a heavy sigh, Doris exined, “My father taught so many students throughout his life. Many of them often send him books, including some they’ve published or rare finds from overseas. It’s amon academic gesture, so we didn’t think much of it…”

Captain Lance pressed further, “Is the express package still around?”

Doris replied, “My mother cleans up those things daily.”

“What courier service was used? Do you remember?” Donald Lance asked again.

Doris thought for a moment before saying, “I believe it was an international express service, sent from Greece.”

Upon hearing this, Donald sighed, “It seems we may not find any clues…”

Doris quickly inquired, “Why is that?”

Donald exined, “If it truly originated from Greece, customs would have detected it upon entry. Their inspection methods are much stricter than ours. Many who attempt to smuggle drugs using simr tactics get caught. Therefore, it’s unlikely that poison could have been delivered in a book.” He then added seriously, “I suspect the international express delivery was a decoy, and the person who delivered it was likely an imposter. The real perpetrator is probably not abroad but right here in Aurous Hill!”</p“additionally,”></p“he>
