Doris Young instinctively lowered her head upon hearing those words.
At that moment, a wave of despair washed over her as she thought, “The young master is correct. My father’s condition is deteriorating daily, and there seems to be no hope left.”
The only flicker of hope came from Walter, who had discovered a potential source for a sessful kidney transnt in the United States. However, Walter’s demands felt like a severe blow to her dignity and self-respect. If she were to reject his terms, she would have to brace herself for the possibility of losing her father at any moment.
This thought made Doris Young’s eyes sting; tears welled up and began to cascade down onto the cold concrete floor. In that instant, all the pent-up negative emotions she had been suppressing for days erupted, and she sank to the ground, sobbing uncontrobly.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Charlie observed Doris, who had always been so resilient, now quietly crying in despair. His heart ached for her, and he thought, “She must feel utterly trapped and overwhelmed to break down like this.”
Moved by her plight, he knelt down in front of her, gently ced a hand on her shoulder, and spoke earnestly: “Doris, even if you can’t find the kidney source, I have a better solution to save your father. This method will spare him the suffering of surgery.” Doris looked up in surprise at Charlie, her voice trembling as she asked, “Young Master, is that really true?”
“Absolutely,” Charlie affirmed, nodding. He opened the passenger door of his car and urged her, “Get in! We’re heading to the hospital to treat your father and investigate who poisoned him!” As Doris regained herposure, she noticed that Charlie had already opened the door and was gently guiding her toward it.
Still in disbelief, Doris asked, “Young Master, do you really have a way to heal my father?”
Charlie nodded, looking into her red-rimmed eyes, and replied sincerely, “If I say it’s possible, then it is!”
Doris hesitated, “But the doctors say kidney failure is irreversible.”
Charlie responded confidently, “Just because the doctors can’t reverse it doesn’t mean I can’t.”
He pulled out a pill from his pocket, the one he had initially prepared for Doris, and said, “This was meant for you, but take it to the hospital for your father. I promise it will help him recover!”
Doris was taken aback, “Young Master, you meant this medicine was for me? Did you already know about my father’s condition?”
Charlie shook his head, exining, “The main reason I organized the dinner today was to express my gratitude to everyone who visited my home during the Chinese New Year and contributed generously. I wanted to treat everyone. The pill I have will invigorate the heart and help with blood cirction; while it may not be as potent as the rejuvenating pill, it should suffice to treat your father’s illness.” Doris was still processing the information, feeling as though she were in a dream.
“Master, will this medicine truly cure my father?” she asked, her voice filled with hope.<fn3337> Latest content published on fι?dnοvel</fn3337>
“You’ll find out once we reach the hospital. Now, hop in the car!” Charlie urged.
Although Doris wasn’t entirely convinced that Charlie’s pill could save her father, the excitement coursing through herpelled her to nod eagerly and get into the car at his insistence.
With that, Charlie started the engine and swiftly drove toward Aurous Hill People’s Hospital.
