Zayne was once again on the other end of the phone, and at that moment, he was seething with rage.
In a fit of anger, he hurled the phone to the ground, shattering it into pieces. He shouted, “Deana! I just can’t grasp what’s so special about Bruce! Why do you keep him in your heart after all these years? Don’t forget, he never chose you! He kept abandoning you, right up until the end!”
Just as his fury reached a peak, a servant approached, holding a mobile phone. With a cautious tone, the servant announced, “Master Banks is calling.”
Zayne suddenly remembered that he had destroyed his own phone.
Reluctantly, he took the call from the servant, trying to keep his anger in check. “Dad, what do you need?” he said.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Lord Banks replied coldly, “Why couldn’t I reach you?”
Zayne had to fabricate an excuse: “My phone had an issue and turned off on its own.” Lord Banks didn’t press further but inquired urgently, “Have you spoken with Deana?”
Zayne quickly responded, “Yes, I did.”
Lord Banks pressed, “What did she say?”
Frustrated, Zayne replied, “Dad, I’m sorry. I tried to persuade her and even shared your wishes, but she wouldn’t listen.”
Lord Banks erupted with anger, eximing, “What a waste! You can’t even manage a woman!”
After that, he hung up the phone abruptly. This marked the third time Zayne’s call had been cut off in just ten minutes, leaving him in a fury. Almost ready to smash the phone in his hand, he suddenly paused, then rxed, tossing the phone to the servant as he stood up and headed upstairs, retreating to his room.
As he walked up the stairs, he muttered to himself, “Deana, the old man is much more difficult than I am. If you won’t show him respect, then I won’t care about anything from now on!”
Meanwhile, in the Banks family residence in Eastcliff, Lord Banks was equally furious.
Deana’s insistence on participating in the judicial auction scheduled for next Monday was particrly frustrating for him. However, he understood in his heart that trying to persuade Deana might be futile given the current circumstances.
At that moment, James suggested, “Dad, maybe we should use our connections to ask Aurous Hill to cancel the auction!”
“Cancel?” Lord Banks replied, “Can it be postponed just for now? This auction has attracted a lot of attention, and many people are watching. If it gets out that we’re using our influence to stop Deana from buying that old house, we’ll only face more ridicule!”
James, looking anxious, asked, “So what should we do? The auction is just two days away!”
Lord Banks nodded coldly and said, “Let’s work behind the scenes to rify our position and shift this auction from online to in-person. I want to see if Deana really has the nerve to show up!”<fn5c51> Read full story at </fn5c51>
James blurted out, “Dad, that’s not a good idea! What if she actuallyes? I believe she will!”
Lord Banks’s eyes glinted with a fierce sneer as he dered, “If she truly doesn’t know when to back down, then she can’t me me for being ruthless. How did Princess Diana meet her end? You must understand the gravity of this, right?”
