Determined to persuade Charlie, he blurted out, “You see, my father has been unhappy with my elder brother and his family for quite some time.     At the mention of John Garrett’s name, James felt a wave of fear wash over him. He hadn’t anticipated that John Garrett was still alive, let alone under Charlie’s control!


    “This is it. This is really it. John Garrett is my father’s personal guard, sent to eliminate Deana. He must know that my father never ordered Zara’s death. When he arrives, he’ll expose me!”


    Initially frozen by fear, James now began to sweat nervously.


    In a panic, he looked at Charlie and stammered, “Charlie, you can’t trust John Garrett! That guy is all talk and no truth!”
