Walter is in a tough spot, struggling to rise from the bed. His frailty has led him to attempt to get up multiple times, but each effort ends in failure. Lying there helplessly, he weeps and cries out in Mandarin, “Dad, I was poisoned, and now I have uremia.”
Overwhelmed by his feelings, Walter’s cries grow louder: “Dad! You have to save me, Dad! This dreadful ce feels like hell. If you don’t rescue me, I might die here.”
With a slight smile, Charlie responds, “Walter, your dad can’t save you. But here’s some good news: I n to leave your father here to take care of you. From now on, he’ll be living in this single room.”
Charlie then turned to Jiro Kobayashi and said, “Jiro, you don’t need to worry about feeding Walter anymore; just focus on taking care of your dog.”
Upon hearing this, Jiro Kobayashi couldn’t contain his joy and eximed, “Yes, Lord Wade! I’d rather feed a dog than deal with Walter; he’s much more unpleasant!”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Charlie chuckled softly, “Let his father handle that from now on. Don Albert will give you a day off. As long as you stay in the kennel, you can do whatever you want.”
Jiro Kobayashi bowed with excitement, saying, “Thank you, Master Wade! I really appreciate it! With a day off, I can sleep in and maybe enjoy a couple of beers.”
Then, looking at Charlie with a hint of nervousness, he asked, “Young Master Wade, is it alright if I have two bottles of beer?”
Charlie smiled and waved his hand, instructing Don Albert, “Don Albert, please arrange for a case of beer for Jiro tomorrow so he can unwind!”
Don Albert immediately replied, “Master Wade, I’ll take care of it!”
Hearing about the beer, Jiro Kobayashi felt tears of joy welling up in his eyes. He choked up and said, “Master Wade, thank you! I haven’t had a beer in ages.”
Charlie responded with a smile, “As long as you behave, we can arrange for more than just beer—there’s white wine, red wine, or even your favorite Japanese sake avable for you.”
Jiro Kobayashi eximed with excitement, “Mr. Wade, I promise to work hard and give it my all!”
Nodding, Charlie waved him off, “Jiro, you can go take a break now; we don’t need you here.”<fnd> Newest update provided by FιndNovel</fnd>
“Alright, Lord Wade. Jiro will take his leave now. That’s it!” he replied quickly.
As Don Albert arrived, he nodded to his subordinates, and one of them stepped forward to escort Jiro Kobayashi out.
Turning to Don Albert, Charlie inquired, “I asked you to prepare a weing ceremony for these people. It’s been a while; why haven’t you started yet?”
Don Albert quickly nodded in agreement, “I’ll get started right away!” He then shouted to the others, “Quickly, get the props ready!” No sooner had he spoken than several of his men retrieved arge red carpet from an empty dog cage. They rolled it out systematically, extending from the kennel corridor all the way to Walter’s single dog cage, leading directly to Walter’s bed. Another person brought Don Albert a red suit jacket, transforming him into the emcee of the event. He dered with a serious yet emotional tone: “Today marks the great day of reunion for Mr. Steve Hogwitz, who has traveled across the ocean to be with his dog son, Walter. On this festive asion, let us witness this historic moment of their father-son reunion!”
As he finished, one of the staff rushed forward with a bouquet of flowers and thrust it into Steve’s arms, threatening in a low voice, “Hold on tight; I’ll break your legs if you drop even a single petal!”
