    <h2><span>CHAPTER 2581</h2>

As Matilda requested a shower, Jacob was taken aback by the unexpected scene in front of him.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">

At that moment, Matilda had already risen from the bed, standing beside it.

She had begun to take off her down jacket, leaving her d in just a top, with the sleeves rolled up to her elbows.

Her transformation was remarkable; she looked vibrant and full of life, her skin glowing with health.

Even more surprising was Matilda’s energetic demeanor. With arms outstretched, she seemed to overflow with energy, even bouncing on the spot twice for good measure.

Jacob was left speechless for quite a while, finally managing to stammer, “So, why did you get out of bed?”

With a spark of enthusiasm, Matilda replied, “Jacob, I feelpletely better! It’s all thanks to that bowl of millet porridge!”

Jacob was bewildered, eximing, “Just a bowl of porridge? How can it be that miraculous?”

Matilda, still moving around energetically, responded earnestly, “I genuinely feelpletely healed—better than I did even before I got sick! My body feels warm and full of energy.”

Jacob’s disbelief deepened as he remarked, “What’s happening? I’ve never heard of such a fantastic effect from millet porridge. This doesn’t make any sense!”

Matilda yfully pinched her waist with one hand, stretching dramatically while saying, “I find it just as magical! It feels like you’ve added some kind of elixir to that porridge.”

Jacob sighed, “Where would I get such an elixir or miracle potion? Speaking of which, can we still take a bath?”

Matilda shook her head and hurriedly asked, “Jacob, what time do you n to head home?”

Jacob, feeling a bit down, replied, “Maybe once you feel better, you’ll send me away.”

Matilda quickly interjected, “Oh! Where do you want to go? Am I really that kind of person? I want to invite you to join me for some exercise, but I worry it might take too long, and I’d have trouble exining it to ine when you get home.”

“Exercise?” Jacob said, suddenly intrigued. “It’s okay! I can go back anytime! I just need a couple of hours!”

Matilda beamed, “That’s fantastic! Let’s do it!”

Curious, Jacob asked, “What kind of exercise do you have in mind?”

Matilda enthusiastically announced, “I want to go for a run by the river! Wait for me at the door while I get changed into my sportswear, and then we can head out together!”

“What?!” Jacob eximed, shocked. “Running by the river at night?”

Matilda nodded, “Yes! I feel so energized right now that I just have to go for a run. I want to run a quickp!”

Checking the time, she added, “It’s not toote; it’s only seven o’clock. Many people who run at night usually start around now and go until around nine-thirty.”

Jacob felt overwhelmed. “What is going on? How can you recover from a fever so quickly? Usually, after a high fever, you feel weak, right? But this is just bizarre.”

While Jacob wrestled with his confusion and surprise, Matilda urged him, “Jacob, are youing or not? Do you want me to go by myself? I can’t hold back any longer!”

Jacob felt too embarrassed to refuse her invitation.

“If I don’t go, Matilda will run on her own. I can’t just stay here, right? Even if I were to stay, what could I do? I can’t just use her bathroom to shower, can I? This situation is just too strange,” he thought. Finally, he sighed and said, “Alright, since you want to run, I’ll join you!”<h5 ss="alignfull has-text-align-center has-luminous-vivid-orange-color has-text-color"><span>
