After finishing his speech, Charlie reiterated, “If you don’t believe me, just wait in the car. I’ll take care of things and return once I’m done.”
Upon hearing this, Mia felt a surge of courage she didn’t know she had. She quickly unbuckled her seatbelt and dered firmly, “I want to be with you!”
“Alright,” Charlie replied with a nod as he opened the car door and stepped out.
Mia followed him out, looking around curiously, and asked, “Where are we headed?”
Charlie pointed towards the path leading into the mountains and said, “Let’s take this route and see where it goes.”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Mia felt a twinge of confusion; typically, she wouldn’t agree to go with any man to such an isted ce. But after a moment of reflection, she chose to trust Charlie.
So, she walked alongside him into the woods.
As they ventured deeper, Pankaj erupted with fury, shouting, “Get the hell off me! I’m going to take that punk down today!”
A group of about a dozen men quickly exited three cars and began to follow Charlie and Mia’s trail.
Hong Kong Ind is already located quite south, and with it being summer, the mountains and forests were lush and dense. The sunlight barely broke through the thick canopy of branches and leaves.
Mia trailed behind Charlie as they progressed into the heart of the forest. Initially calm, she started feeling a sense of unease as they ventured further.
Finally reaching a clearing, she couldn’t hold back any longer and asked Charlie, “Where are we going?”
Charlie gestured for her toe closer and instructed, “Just stand behind me.”
Mia, bewildered, stepped in front of Charlie, but then she heard rustling noises from behind them.
Thinking it might be a wild animal, she turned to look, only to see a group of over a dozen muscr men emerging from the forest, all covered in tattoos, giving off a vibe of gang affiliation.
Panic surged through Mia as she instinctively reached for Charlie to pull him away when she spotted Pankaj approaching with a menacing expression.
Upon seeing Charlie and Mia, Pankaj’s teeth ground together as he snarled, “What a ridiculous couple! With all the hotels on Hong Kong Ind, you choose toe to a ce like this for a fight in broad daylight!”
Mia, disregarding her anger, retorted coldly, “Pankaj, what do you want?”
Pankaj, seething, shot back, “What do you think I want? I damn well want you! What else could it be?! I never expected you to act so shamelessly after being so reserved all this time!”
Mia fired back, “What nonsense are you spewing?!”
Pankaj clenched his jaw and dered, “Nonsense? You ran off with these thugs to have a brawl, and I’m the one talking nonsense? After all these years of chasing you, I’m going to deal with you first, and then let my friends have their turn!”
Mia’s face paled, and although she trembled with fear, she stood her ground, saying, “You wouldn’t dare!”
Pankaj sneered, “Of course, I dare. If you doubt me, I’ll show you just what I can do!”<fn03cd> Read full story at find?novel</fn03cd>
At that moment, Charlie interjected coldly, “Didn’t your mother teach you to be polite when speaking to women?”
Pankaj turned his gaze to Charlie, a mocking grin on his face. “You think you’re tough, huh? I’ll deal with youter. Just remember, this is Hong Kong Ind, not the maind. You’re going to learn some respect here!”
With a grin, Charlie asked, “Oh really? So if I agree to be respectful, can we forget this whole thing?”
Pankaj shouted angrily, “It’s toote for that! I came here to take you out, you bastard!”
After his outburst, hemanded the muscr men surrounding him, “Beat him to a pulp!”
As the strongmen charged toward Charlie, Mia instinctively positioned herself in front of him, eximing, “Pankaj, if you touch him, I swear I’ll call the police!”
Charlie gently ced a hand on her shoulder and smiled, “It’s alright, just stay behind me. You wouldn’t want to get hurt in the process.”
