Mia’s words left Liu Jiahui in shock.
He instinctively eximed, “Are you out of your mind? Don’t you realize you’re going to die here?”
“I don’t care,” Mia replied, her expression resolute. “Whether you stay with me or leave, whether you live or die, I will follow Charlie!”
Liu Jiahui, feeling a surge of panic, shouted, “Mia! This isn’t the time for loyalty! If even one of us can escape, it’s better than both of us dying!”
With unwavering determination in her eyes, Mia replied, “Don’t try to convince me. Just go on your own!”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Frustrated, Liu Jiahui stomped his foot, eximing, “Have you lost your mind?! Staying here won’t aplish anything!”
Mia shot back coldly, “I’ve said it before—I don’t care! I want to stay with Charlie!”
“Leave now!” Liu Jiahui gritted his teeth, pulling out his checkbook and hastily writing. “You used to have a say, but not today!”
Once he finished, he tore off the check and mmed it down in front of Zyaire, dering, “Here’s a five million dor check. I’ll take my daughter out of here!”
Zyaire epted the check and examined it. After confirming its authenticity, he pocketed it and replied coldly, “I need to leave soon; my patience is wearing thin.”
Liu Jiahui, feeling the pressure, grabbed Mia’s arm and urged loudly, “Come back with me, now!”
“I won’t go!” Mia protested, panic rising in her voice. As she tried to resist Liu Jiahui, she instinctively grasped Charlie’s hand, tears streaming down her face.
Seeing her distress, Charlie spoke gently, “Miss Mia, don’t worry about me. You should return with Mr. Liu. I can handle the rest on my own.”
Mia misunderstood Charlie’s intent. Believing he was urging her to leave for her own sake, she cried, “I’m not going… I want to be with you!”
Charlie replied earnestly, “Miss Mia, I’ll be fine. Please go back with Mr. Liu. I’ll join you in 20 minutes.”
Mia shook her head vigorously, terrified of being pulled away from Charlie. Clutching his hand tightly, she sobbed, “I don’t want 20 minutes; I want to be with you! If you go, I’ll go with you!”
To Mia, it was only logical to stay with Charlie. After all, he was staying behind for her sake; how could she just walk away now?
Yet, Mia failed to recognize that the reason Charlie chose to stay was driven by more than just a sense of duty.
Deep down, she harbored feelings for Charlie that were entirely new to her in her 24 years of life.
At this moment, all she wanted was to remain by Charlie’s side, nothing more.
Zyaire, growing impatient, shouted, “Enough! Are you all here to y out some dramatic scene?”
He pointed at Mia, yelling, “If you know what’s good for you, follow your father and get out of here! Otherwise, I’ll make you regret it!”
Charlie’s expression hardened as he interjected, “Have you ever been taught to treat women with respect?”
Zyaire’s patience was reaching its limit. He pointed at Charlie, saying, “Listen, kid! I’ve put up with you long enough!”
He then directed his ire at Teacher Lin,manding, “Teacher Lin, tear this kid’s tongue out!”
Teacher Lin cast a cold nce at Charlie, dering, “You’re asking for trouble; don’t me me for what happens next!”
Charlie looked back at him with a sneer, “You call yourself a warrior, yet here you are, serving trash? Is that what all your training was for?”<fnd3aa> For more chapters visit Find~Novel</fnd3aa>
