Upon hearing that she would have the chance to call her family, ine felt a surge of excitement that rendered her speechless. When ine learned she could call her family, her excitement was overwhelming.
She longed to call Charlie right away, crying and asking him to do whatever it took to help her. However, to make that call, she had to wait until dinner was over and everyone was out in the yground.

Inside the cafeteria, she struggled to hold her dinner te, her hands too shaky to manage it properly, and reluctantly retreated to an empty corner to eat.
Just as she settled in, Chloe appeared out of nowhere, taking a seat across from her with her own dinner te.
Chloe’s entourage—female inmates who had just benefited from ine’s pedicure service—quickly gathered around her.
Mn, a bit anxious, hurriedly asked Chloe, “Are you alright?”
Chloe looked at ine, smiled, raised her eyebrows, and inquired, “I heard from Jessica that your family is wealthy and that you can load $10,000 onto your card at a time?”
ine could only respond nervously, “I… my son-inw is quite dutiful… he must be worried that I’m suffering here, so… he asked awyer… to set aside some extra money…”
Chloe nodded, smiling as she said, “Since your family is so affluent, I may need to adjust the terms I offered you earlier.”
ine, anxious, asked, “How do you want to adjust them?”

Chloe appeared unfazed, smiling as she exined, “$1,000 isn’t a lot for you. Two cigarettes would total $2,000, but if you spend that amount, I assure you that at Bader Ford Mountain Correctional Institution, no one will bother you again.”
ine quickly asked, “Is what you’re saying true?”
“Absolutely,” Chloe replied with a smile. “As long as you can arrange for your family to buy two cigarettes from Jessica each day, nothing like what happened to you today will ur again.
