When Charlie nced at the text on Trent’s mobile phone, he was taken aback.
He hadn’t anticipated that Trent would grasp the situation so swiftly.
With a grin, he took the phone, typed silently, and remarked, “Oh, brother, your son bears no resemnce to you at all; he’s far more handsome!”
As he spoke, he typed a quick message: “Brother, what’s going on?”
He then returned the phone to Trent.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Trent epted the phone with a smile, saying, “My son looks just like his mother. Trust me, don’t let my looks fool you; my wife is stunning! Just a moment, I’ll find you some pictures of her from when she was younger!”
While searching through his phone, he mumbled, “Oh, I have so many photos, between 20,000 to 30,000. It’s going to be tough to locate them.”
After a brief moment, he handed the phone back to Charlie and said, “Hey, check this out! This is a photo from our wedding. Back then, there were no retouching or beauty filters.”
Charlie took the phone and read a lengthy message: “Brother, the driver mentioned there’s no mobile phone signal in this area, but I spotted a signal tower in the wilderness about a kilometer or two away. It was faint, but as amunication engineer, I can recognize a signal tower immediately. Even if the base station is outdated, it shouldn’t be signal-less at this distance, especially with no obstructions for ten kilometers. Something doesn’t add up!”
After reading this, Charlie couldn’t help but admire Trent’s insight. However, to avoid rming him prematurely, he said, “Don’t tell me, your sister-inw must have been absolutely gorgeous when she was younger!”
While saying this, he typed a question: “Could the signal tower be malfunctioning? Is it typical for towers to fall into disrepair in this type of location?”
Trent took the phone again and, while typing, added, “By the way, I have a young daughter who looks a lot like my wife. I’ll show you a picture.”
Continuing, Trent typed, “I thought the same at first, but I just checked the navigation app and it can’t even find satellite signals. That’s even stranger! Even if Mexico has poor infrastructure, and if the signal tower is indeed broken, the satellites in the sky should still be operational. There are over 24 GPS satellites working across six orbital nes. Even in remote areas, we should still receive satellite signals. The fact that my phone can’t detect any signals indicates there’s likely some sort of shielding device in our vehicle, blocking bothmunication and satellite signals!”
Upon realizing this, Charlie sighed inwardly: “Clearly, the shielding device touches upon Trent’s area of expertise as amunications professional, which is why he sensed something was off right away. It’s evident that Trent is quite intelligent.”
Worried about taking rash actions, Charlie replied on his phone, “Brother, let’s not act hastily. We should observe first.”<fn5176> ???? ????s? ???????s ?? Find★Novel</fn5176>
Feeling an urgency, Trent responded, “Brother, we can’t afford to dy! It might be toote for us to find a way out if we wait much longer!”
Charlie replied, “We can’t just jump out of the car and run. The car is moving too fast, and jumping out would surely be fatal. Plus, Old Mo, the driver, has a gun. Even if we manage to jump out safely, he could just shoot us before we get away.”
Trent replied, “But if we’re in their territory, we’ll have no chance! Won’t we just be ughtered?”
Charlie answered, “We’re both in a rough spot here; they’re not likely to kill us for no reason. They might just want to use us as freeborers. As long as we cooperate and stay alive, we should be okay. If we try to run now, we’ll probably end up dead in Mexico. I mean, it’s not like there’s a graveyard nearby, and I really don’t want to be buried in this godforsaken ce.”
After reading Charlie’s response, Trent found himself in a dilemma.
He understood that Charlie’s reasoning was likely correct.<h3 ss="has-text-align-center wp-block-heading" id="chapter-list"><strong></strong>
