A Liang shot a disdainful nce at Charlie and remarked nonchntly, “Don’t worry, I’ll arrange for someone to draw your bloodter. Your blood type and other pertinent details will be posted online. If there’s a match, I’ll negotiate the price with the interested party, and once that’s settled, you can just wait for your turn on the operating table.”
The Indian doctor, Hadik, quickly interjected, “Damn, I almost forgot we still have two patients on the operating tables.”
Hadik rushed over to assess the two patients and informed Uncle Ma, “Mr. Ma, one of the guests is stabilizing. We can transfer him to recovery now.”
“Alright,” Uncle Ma replied, nodding. He signaled to several Mexicans who immediately approached, lifted the man onto a mobile hospital bed, and carried him out.<fn186f> Readplete version only at FindN0vel</fn186f><h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Turning his attention to the second unconscious man on the operating table, Uncle Ma asked the doctor, “What about this one?”
Hadik examined the patient and shook his head, saying, “Not good. He’s too weak and probably won’tst more than a few days.”
After a moment, he inquired, “Have the other body parts found any buyers?”
Uncle Ma shook his head in response, “No matches yet.”
“Forget about him then. I’ll arrange for someone to take care of him and bury himter tonight,” Uncle Ma decided.
Hadik nodded, “In that case, I’ll leave him be. I’m done for the day and need some rest.”
Uncle Ma reminded him, “Remember, we have two surgeries scheduled for tomorrow. Don’t sleep in toote.”
Hadik quickly nodded, yawned, and made his way out.
A Liang called after him, “Hey, Hadik, we still need to collect blood from this kid!”
Hadik turned back, “Let’s do it tomorrow morning. After we draw the blood, it’ll be taken to Ensenada for testing. Drawing it now wouldn’t be fresh by morning.”
Upon hearing this, A Liang said nothing more, but turned to Charlie with a yful smirk, “Enjoy your rest tonight. You’ll get to witness two surgeries tomorrow. It’ll be quite the experience.”
Charlie looked back at him and asked, “You mentioned earlier that I could fetch a good price. How much are we talking about?”
A Liang furrowed his brow, surprised, “Aren’t you scared, kid?”
Charlie smiled casually, “Being afraid won’t help me. If I told you I was someone you couldn’t mess with, would you think I was just boasting?”
“Damn…” A Liang’s irritation red, and he retorted, “You think you’re tough? Want me to see just how tough you really are?”
Uncle Ma stepped in, pulling A Liang back and fixing Charlie with a piercing gaze. He asked, “Kid, if you have connections, just state your identity. If we can strike a deal, there’s a chance we can turn this situation around.”</phe>
