Chapter 2844: The Best Solution
Helena’s voice was soft and tinged with sadness.
Despite her gentle words, Charlie, whoy peacefully asleep in front of her, remained unresponsive.
At that moment, Charlie seemed entirely disconnected from the world around him.
Seeing Charlie’sck of reaction only amplified Helena’s sorrow.

Her tears flowed as she gazed at him, her heart heavy with emotion.
With a trembling hand, she brushed Charlie’s face, her voice choked with sobs: “From the very first time we met, I felt the distance you kept from me. In your eyes, I must appear as someone very pragmatic and self-serving, perhaps even a woman willing to do anything to gain your favor…”
“If I were to sleep with you without your knowledge, and by some chance, I became pregnant, would you look down on me even more?”
“You might even harbor disdain for our child because of how you see me…”
“And if I failed to conceive, I can only imagine you would distance yourself from me for good, never wanting to see me again, right?”
After expressing her thoughts, Helena wiped her tears and dered with determination: “No… I won’t allow this misunderstanding to grow any deeper. I refuse to let a false perception dictate our rtionship… Absolutely not! Life is still ahead of us. I will find a way to change your misguided view of me and show you that, aside from my ailing mother, you are the only person I truly care about in this world!”
With that, she leaned down, softly kissed Charlie’s lips, and nestled in his arms like a content kitten.
As she curled up in his embrace, Helena couldn’t help butugh with joy, saying, “I want to hold you and sleep for just an hour. Promise me you won’t wake up during this time, so I can wake up feeling refreshed.”
After speaking, she rested her face against Charlie’s heart and gently closed her eyes.
In that moment, Helena felt like the happiest woman alive.
Yet, a small regret lingered; she was hesitant to fully fall asleep, afraid that Charlie might wake up too soon. Despite her overwhelming happiness, she couldn’t shake a sense of caution and apprehension.
In Charlie’s arms, she dozed for nearly an hour, caught between dreams and wakefulness.
This hour was the most fulfilling moment she had experienced since reaching adulthood.
When the clock struck nine, she quietly got off the bed, dressing carefully and tidying the side where she had slept. She brushed away a few strands of hair that had fallen onto Charlie’s arms.
Once she had done all this, she gazed at Charlie onest time, kissed him again with uncontroble affection, then reluctantly exited the room, closing the door gently behind her.
It was almost noon when Charlie finally opened his eyes.<fn611c> ???? ????s? ???????s ?? fι?dnοvel</fn611c>
He felt as though he had just experienced the longest yet most tranquil sleep he could remember.
Though this slumber hadn’t significantly replenished his energy, it had greatly lifted his spirits.
Stretching his arms and body, he suddenly noticed a familiar fragrance enveloping him.
This scent was unmistakably the same as Helena’s.
While he had caught a whiff of it upon entering the room and while lying in bed, he now realized that the fragrance on him was even more pronounced than before, stronger than what lingered on the bed itself.
Charlie understood that scents typically dissipate over time, and the fact that it was now more potent indicated that it had been renewed during his sleep.
With this thought in mind, he instinctively reached into the quilt on the empty side of the bed, feeling a slight residual warmth still present where Helena had been.

Next Chapter
