The Amazing son in law Chapter 5341

Upon hearing Jacob’sments, Charlie couldn’t contain his surprise as he asked, “Why are Professor Hank and Auntie Matilda together? When did that happen?”

Jacob replied, his voice filled with indignation, “It happened during our recent cultural exchange trip to Korea. Somehow, the two of you crossed paths, right?”

Charlie pressed on, “Are you absolutely sure they’re together? Has it been officially announced?”

“Yes…” Jacob said, sounding tormented. “Auntie Matilda is looking for me.” He continued, exining that Professor Hank had always held a special ce in her heart, and that feeling wasn’t new. By the time we encountered him, he was already interested in Aunt Matilda.”

Then Jacob added, “That old guy with thest name He has been pursuing your Aunt Matilda. She was confused and ended up agreeing to his advances.” <h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">

Charlie chuckled and said, “Dad, I have something you might not want to hear, but I actually think they’re a good match.”

“A good match?!” Jacob erupted, anger flickering in his eyes. “What’s so great about them? What are you trying to say?” He continued, “You and Auntie Matilda are a perfect pair. I remember when we fell in love back in school; we were the talk of all the teachers and students. If it weren’t for ine, we would have been married ages ago. I can’t even imagine how many kids we would have had by now.”

Jacob’s frustration grew as he remarked, “I never expected Auntie Matilda to move on so quickly. Does she really think that rtionship we had for so many years can simply be reced by someone like Hank?”

Charlie, serious now, responded, “Dad, what you just said is quite irresponsible.”

Jacob raised an eyebrow, staring at him. “What are you talking about? Did I say something wrong?”

Charlie countered, “You always im that you and Auntie Matilda are a match made in heaven, yet in the end, you married my mother instead.”

Jacob shot back, “That was all ine’s doing! If it weren’t for her, Auntie Matilda wouldn’t have left me.”

Charlie shook his head lightly. “Let’s not dwell on the past. Let’s focus on what happened after Auntie Matilda returned. I noticed that when she came back to China, she still held feelings for you. The issue is, she gave you a chance, but youcked the courage to seize it. She can’t wait indefinitely for you. If she meets someone more suitable, she will choose them. After all, why would she wait for an uncertain future?”

Hearing this, Jacob hesitated, feeling guilty. “I’m trying to find the right moment to ask your mother for a divorce. But you know how she is; I have to be discreet and wait for the right opportunity. I can’t just bring it up directly!”

Charlie scoffed, “Dad, do you even believe what you’re saying?”

Jacob defended himself, “I… I really do think so!”

Charlie replied bluntly, “Dad, I know your character and your thoughts. You’re too afraid to mention divorce to Mom. You’re waiting for a convenient opportunity, like if she suddenly disappears or decides she wants to leave you. You want a way out without any hassle, don’t you?”

Jacob was caught off guard by Charlie’s directness but replied awkwardly, “I just want to handle things peacefully…”

Charlie shook his head. “I get it. When Aunt Matilda returned, my mother was missing for a while, and I could see you enjoyed that freedom. But that feeling was temporary. You can’t confuse a fleeting moment with something permanent.”

Then Charlie added sincerely, “I’vee to understand Professor Hank’s situation. Honestly, it seems like the best choice for Aunt Matilda to be with him. They are both single and widowed, which means there’s no emotional baggage from past rtionships. They won’t have to worry about rekindling old mes or dealing with ex-partners.” <fn2db1> Original content can be found at Find?Novel</fn2db1>

Charlie continued, looking at Jacob meaningfully, “Knowing my mother, even if you two were to divorce, if she finds out about you and Auntie Matilda, she will definitely make your life difficult. You would both face trouble unless you leave Aurous Hill and keep your whereabouts a secret.”

Jacob sighed, looking skyward. “Charlie, you’re right. I’m terrified of ine! For over 20 years, I’ve dreamed of escaping her, but she’s like a curse that I can’t shake off.”

Charlie said calmly, “You have to fight for what you want. If you’re afraid to take the first step, what’s the point of discussing everything else?” After a brief pause, he added, “I wasn’t finished with my earlier point. Aunt Matilda and Professor Hank both graduated from prestigious universities and are esteemed intellectuals. They hold high social status in both the U.S. and China, making them a strong match. Inparison, aside from being Aunt Matilda’s first love, you have no real advantages over Professor Hank.”
