The Amazing son in law Chapter 6045

Charlie was taken aback when he found himself camping in the mountains of southern Yunnan and encountered two young cancer patients.

To his surprise, both of them had aspirations to travel to Aurous Hill to join the clinical trial conducted by Jiuxuan Pharmaceutical, yet they had been turned away.

What astonished him even more was that Arlo Hu knew James Smith personally.

Many were left in disbelief that James Smith, the former head of the FDA, had decided to resign from his prestigious position and move to Aurous Hill to start a charitable initiative.

Charlie, feigning curiosity, asked Arlo Hu, “Old Hu, how do you know James Smith?”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">

Arlo Hu replied withposure, “I’m not very familiar with him. After all, before his resignation, he was a senior official in the U.S. His connections were with top biomedicalpanies and entrepreneurs worldwide. James Smith is a significant figure, even among the elite, so someone like me has no real chance to know him.”

He continued, “I actually met him at the registration site for Jiuxuan Pharmaceutical. He was there with his child to sign up. At first nce, he seemed unremarkable; no one around recognized him. I could identify him because I studied biological sciences in the U.S.—there aren’t many students who delve into biomedicine, gic technology, and pharmaceutical chemistry there.”

Charlie, intrigued, asked, “What’s your main focus in biological science? Is it in biomedicine?”

“Yes,” Arlo Hu confirmed with a nod. “My primary interest is biochemistry. I had nned to work in pharmaceuticalpanies, participating in the development of a new generation of chemotherapy drugs. Little did I know I would be a terminal cancer patient before the drug even hit the market.”

With a wry smile, Arlo Hu sighed, “This is what they call dying before birth. It’s like a long-awaited hero bursting into tears, eager to don the uniform and serve the country, only to pass away before ever getting the chance.”<fn1045> Follow current nov?ls on find?novel</fn1045>

Hallie, who was nearby, chimed in with a smile, “Everyone has their own destiny. For us, being here together is more important than anything else. We should cherish the happiness we have before returning home.” Arlo Hu lightly nodded in agreement, embracing Hallie gently as he said, “God has been very kind to me, allowing me to find the love of my life before I leave this world. My life feels meaningful.”

His cheeks flushed slightly as he yfully remarked, “Oh, you’re so cheeky.” Arlo Hu grinned and replied, “With not much time left for me, I can’t afford to be reserved for long. I need to express myself freely.”

Then, looking at Hallie, he asked with a cheerful tone, “Hallie, will you marry me?”

A young man of simr age to Arlo Huughed and eximed, “Whoa! Are you proposing, Arlo Hu?”

Arlo Hu, feeling a bit shy, admitted, “Yes, although I didn’t prepare a ring in advance.”

He turned to Hallie and asked sincerely, “Hallie, will you marry me?”

Snapping out of her surprise, Hallie pursed her lips and replied, “It’s been such a short time, do you truly want to get married? Marriage involves so much—meeting parents, choosing a wedding dress, booking a venue, and nning the ceremony. Rather than dying things for so long, wouldn’t it be better to just enjoy our time together?”

Arlo Hu paused, then looked at Hallie earnestly and said, “Before I pass, I want to experience everything I haven’t had the chance to. If possible, I would love to take you to live in the United States…”

Hallie smiled and said, “But after this trip, we will both start chemotherapy separately. Once that begins, our health will likely deteriorate, and you’ll need to return to the U.S. for treatment while I’ll head back to Yanjing. If we start nning a wedding, it might only dy our treatments.”
