Lin Wan’er (ni) prompted Charlie Wade to seriously consider for the first time the possibility that Meng Changsheng (Willie the 1st) might actually still be alive. At first nce, this notion seemed a bit far-fetched.
In the Nine Mysterious Scriptures, there is no mention of anyone living for over a thousand years, which already highlights a gap in Charlie Wade’s understanding.
Furthermore, the Jiu Xuan Tian Jing does not even acknowledge the existence of the Eternal Evergreen Pill.
Even Lin Wan’er (ni) found herself falling into the same blind spot as Charlie Wade, making it hard to assess Meng Changsheng (Willie the 1st)’s situation.
Although there is no concrete evidence to confirm Meng Changsheng’s (Willie the 1st) fate, Charlie Wade understood the importance of staying cautious and not dismissing the matter lightly.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
He turned to Lin Wan’er (ni) and said, “I agree with everything you’ve just said, Miss Lin. Now that we’vee this far, there’s no reason to turn back. Why not follow your suggestion and investigate together?”
Realizing that Charlie Wade was determined and that his willingness to include her was a significant concession, Lin Wan’er (ni) nodded without hesitation, replying, “Okay! I’ll go with you!”
Charlie Wade gave a slight nod, sighed softly, and added, “If we are to continue together, it wouldn’t be practical to go down this way. Let’s turn around and head into the mountains in the opposite direction from where Sara appeared.”
“Alright,” Lin Wan’er (ni) agreed readily. “As long as the young master wishes to take me along, I will follow your lead.”
With their n set, Charlie Wade wasted no time. He swiftly turned at the next exit, passed by the spot where Sara had jumped off, and continued driving for several dozen kilometers. He then exited the expressway in the town where Sara had left.
The map indicated that aside from the highway, the only other route out of the town was a rough mountain road. This mountain road began at the foot of a nearby peak known as Qiandao Mountain and wound downhill through the town, eventually joining the main road and leading back to the expressway.
If they avoided the highway and pressed on, they could reach a national highway that connected Yunnan and Guangxi.
Notably, Sara had appeared on the road leading from the former Daoshan Mountain into the town’s center.
Charlie Wade parked where Sara had been seen and decided to venture into the mountains from that point, generally following the direction in which Sara had abandoned her car, hoping to uncover any clues she might have left behind.
Considering that Sara had been in a hurry when she left, Charlie Wade estimated that she likely hadn’t had the time to cover her tracks.
Once outside the car, Charlie Wade gathered the necessary equipment for the mountain trek and set off with Lin Wan’er (ni).
After departing the country road, the dense virgin forest didn’t immediatelye into view. Instead, both sides were lined with terraced fields cultivated by local farmers, which naturally formed pathways for people, livestock, and even motorcycles.
Fortunately, the path aligned perfectly with the direction Charlie Wade intended to search, so they proceeded along the trail, moving deeper into the mountains.<fnd2e9> Content originallyes from </fnd2e9>
The duo scaled a low mountain entirely covered in terraces and continued further in. As they progressed, signs of human activity dwindled. While there were still a few terraced fields, they were increasingly distant from any viges or towns, and many had yet to be developed.
Upon climbing the second mountain and beginning their descent, Charlie Wade noticed that the rugged track transformed from a long earth-yellow strip into a slender Y-shape in the valley ahead. Additionally, a winding river, over a meter wide, flowed gracefully down the valley.
This river intersected with the three lines of the Y shape. Here, someone had constructed five stone piers, allowing the river to trickle slowly through the four gaps between them. This arrangement caused the water to flow on the left side of the Y shape, creating a small area of about four or five square meters.<h3 ss="wp-block-heading has-text-align-center" id="chapter-list"><strong></strong>
