Upon hearing this, Ni Dawei felt a wave of shame wash over him.

    Even though Arman had spent many years cooking roast goose in this shop, he was undoubtedly the sharpest mind in Chinatown. The fact that Arman believed in charlie suggested that charlie was likely more formidable than Ni Dawei had initially thought.


    Resolute in his decision, he turned to charlie and stated, “Mr. Wade, I am ready to cooperate with you. Just let me know what you need!”


    charlie replied calmly, “First, tell me about the Burning Angel and the Italians backing them. What’s their background?”


    Ni Dawei quickly responded, “The Burning Angel is a rtively new gang, having formed in thest few years. Its origins trace back to the merger of several smaller gangs in New York,rgely instigated by the Italian Mafia behind the scenes. The Italians have deep roots in the U.S. and, over the years, have gradually distanced themselves from the more nefarious activities while entrusting that work to the new gangs they sponsor. These new gangs are required to share at least 50% of their profits with the Italians.” As he continued, Ni Dawei added, “Most Italian mafia groups in the U.S. are family-run. While the five major families were once the most prominent, the Zano family has emerged as the strongest contender outside of them. The Burning Angel is aligned with the Zano family.”


    charlie remarked, “So, they benefit from the support of the Zano family, while also allocating a significant portion of their earnings to them. Essentially, they operate as a low-end market subsidiary, with the Zano family retaining the majority stake.”


    Ni Dawei nodded in agreement, saying, “You’re correct, Mr. Wade. The Zano family oversees numerous such gangs. Most members of the Burning Angel are African Americans with limited education, and their main activities involve seizing territory and collecting protection fees. There are also a few organizations engaged in slightly more lucrative endeavors, like high-profit contraband.” At this point, Arman interjected,


    “The current leadership of the Zano family is quite astute. They’ve segmented their business operations into various distinctponents and assigned each part to different organizations. These organizations coborate while maintaining checks and bnces against one another.”


    charlie raised an eyebrow in interest, saying, “Uncle Arman, please borate on that.”


    Arman exined, “My insights are drawn from information circting in themunity and my own observations from previous visits.
