The Amazing son in law Chapter 6457

Steve bombarded everyone with a flurry of questions, his voice rising in both volume and emotion. To the other brothers, it echoed like the chaotic sound of German Maxim machine guns during World War I, firing at an incredible rate.

Among them, David felt the most anxious. He hadn’t anticipated that everyone would shower Steve with praise, but Steve seemedpletely unwilling to ept it.

Not only did he reject this attention, but he alsounched a counter-offensive.

To the old man, Steve’s rapid-fire questioning suggested that he and the other brothers had abandoned the sickbed to fawn over the eldest brother, Steve.

Wasn’t this a case of losing the rice while trying to steal the chicken?<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">

Just as David was at a loss for how to respond, the door to the special care unit swung open. A doctor emerged, announcing, “Mr. Steve Rothschild, your father wishes to see you!”

This news sent a surge of excitement through Steve; he thought to himself, “Fantastic! It seems the old man heard me!”

David, however, felt a wave of frustration. Had he known this would result from his praise, he would have rather faced a beating thanpliment his elder brother.

Soon after, Steve entered the hospital room and found his father, who had begun to resemble Stephen Hawking.<fnb0b4> ?????? ???? F?ndNovel</fnb0b4>

Howardy in the hospital bed, having been quite pleased with Steve’s earlier performance.

In prominent families, leaders often grapple with aplex mix of emotions regarding their chosen heirs.

On one hand, they desire to pass down the family leadership; on the other hand, they wish to dy that moment as long as possible.

Moreover, they do not want their heirs to exhibit excitement or arrogance about inheriting the family business.

Had Steve dared to ept his brothers’pliments or utter even a casual word of thanks, Howard would have been furious and deeply disappointed.

Fortunately for Howard, Steve’s performance exceeded all expectations, and he deemed it perfect.

With expert guidance behind him, Steve entered the ward, his expression marked by sadness upon seeing Howard on the bed.

With tears brimming in his eyes, he hurried to the bedside, knelt down, and asked with palpable concern, “Father, how do you feel? I was so worried on my way here…”

Howard, deeply moved, stuttered, “I…I’m okay, good son. You don’t need to worry…”

With a sigh, he added, “The doctor mentioned that I am hemiplegic… and that it may be… difficult for me to fully recover…”

Steve’s heart sank; he felt a mix of joy and sorrow. He turned to the doctor, raising his voice, “Is there any way to help my father return to his former self?!”

The doctor quickly responded, “Young master, recovery from a stroke like this is nearly impossible. Your father is over eighty years old. Even a twenty-year-old athlete struggles to fully recover from injuries…”

But Steve insisted loudly, “I don’t care what methods you use; you must do everything you can to help my father recover. The Rothschild family needs his guidance!”

Howard felt a wave offort wash over him, akin to being wrapped in a warm nket during a cold winter.

    He replied, “Steve, please… don’t put the doctor in a difficult position… I… I might… really want to…”

Without waiting for Howard to continue, Steve grasped his hand, his eyes glistening with emotion. “Father, you don’t need to worry! You will live a long life! I will bring stroke specialists from around the world to New York for your consultations, and one day, you’ll regain your former self!”

Howard nodded slightly, a tremulous smile appearing on his face.

Then he sighed and added, “I… I n to retire soon… Steve… in the future, the Rothschild family will be yours to lead…”

Joy surged within Steve, and he struggled to contain a smile. Yet, recalling Charlie Wade’s earnest advice, he lowered his head to mask his expression, replying with a mix of sadness and urgency, “Father, we aren’t ready. The Rothschild family cannot lose your leadership right now. You must focus on recovering!”

Howard shook his head, “I… I don’t want others to see me like this… So, you need to take over my responsibilities and continue leading the family…”

He added, “I’ve made my decision, and you don’t need to try to change my mind…”

Still wanting to persuade him, Steve said, “Father, let’s wait until you recover! During this time, I will do nothing but stay by your side in New York and focus on your rehabilitation!”

Howard responded, clearly happy, “Knowing that you feel this way makes me very happy… Let’s do this. You should go back and prepare. Others might still be on their way back. Tomorrow, I will hold a family meeting and announce my decision to everyone…”
