Just then, the doorbell rang unexpectedly. Jacob lifted a cup of tea to his lips for a sip before standing up and addressing the three others in the room, “You all go ahead and drink first. I’ll check who’s at the door.”
With that, he quickly made his way out of the living room.
Although Jacob had been in good spiritstely, it was contingent on avoiding any news about Hank. Deep down, he felt like a defeated general who had lost a significant battle to Hank. The reality was harsh; he had not only lost his position as executive vice president of the Calligraphy and Painting Association, but Hank had also ascended to the role of CEO at Bruce Automobile. It felt as if he had tumbled down a slope, while Hank was triumphantly standing atop Mount Everest. The disparity between them felt insurmountable.
As Jacob approached the front gate, he couldn’t help but mutter to himself, “Just wait until you drive Bruce Automobile into bankruptcy. Then I’ll have my chance to gloat! I’ll buy a hundred strings of firecrackers and set them off right at the entrance!”
Upon reaching the gate, he checked the surveince camera and was taken aback to see none other than Don Albert standing at his door.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Flustered, Jacob hurriedly opened the door and stepped into the yard. Eagerly, he swung open the iron gate, looked at Don Albert, and said with exaggerated politeness, “Ah, Master Albert! What a surprise! Why didn’t you give me a heads-up beforeing? I would have prepared something special for your visit…”
Don Albert smiled and inquired gently, “Mr. Willson, is Master Wade at home? I have something I need to discuss with him!”
“Yes, he’s home! He’s just finished dinner and is enjoying some tea right now. Please,e in!” Jacob responded with a warm smile, inviting Don Albert inside.
Once inside, Jacob quickly stepped ahead and called out to his family, “Everyone, Master Albert is here! Let’s give him a warm wee!”
Charlie Wade knew exactly why Don Albert hade; he was the one who had arranged this meeting. However, ire and ine were puzzled, unsure of what Don Albert intended to discuss in their home.
ine, aware of Don Albert’s significance in Aurous Hill, quickly rose with a bright smile, saying, “Oh, Master Albert! Please, have a seat!”
Don Albert nodded to her politely and replied, “Hello, Ms.”
He then turned to Charlie Wade and ire, saying, “Hello, Master Wade, and Madam Wade!”
ire greeted him with a smile, while Charlie Wade feigned curiosity and asked, “What brings you here, Mr. Albert?”
Don Albert responded promptly, “Master Wade, I’m here to ask for your urgent assistance. I hope you’ll agree!”
Jacob, realizing that Don Albert was seeking help from Charlie Wade, recalled how he had regained his position at the Calligraphy and Painting Association thanks to Charlie’s intervention through Don Albert. He quickly chimed in, “My good son-inw, Master Albert has helped our family immensely before; you really shouldn’t turn down his request!”
Charlie Wade replied, “Of course, Mr. Albert, but please let me know what you need and whether it’s something I can handle.”
Don Albert exined quickly, “It’s about my elder brother’s coal mine in the northwest. He invested over 1 billion yuan, and just as it started producing, we’ve run into issues. There are idents urring frequently—flooding in the tunnels, ndslides, and even gas leaks. Thankfully, we’ve managed to avert disaster until now.”
He then turned to Charlie Wade and said, “Master Wade, my brother suspects there might be Feng Shui issues affecting the mine’s operation, which is critical. He asked me to consult a Feng Shui master, and I thought of you because you’re the best I know.”
ire interjected, “That sounds too dangerous. There are idents happening all the time. Husband, let’s not get involved in this risky situation.”
Charlie Wade reassured her, “Don’t worry, dear. I’ll be looking at the overall situation without going underground.”
Don Albert added, “Exactly, Madam Wade. My brother’s mine is nestled deep in the mountains. We suspect the Feng Shui of the site might not have been properly assessed. We’re hoping Master Wade can help rectify that.”
Charlie Wade pondered, “If the Feng Shui is off, it could be aplicated process to fix. It’s a significant undertaking…”<fn43ba> Follow current nov?ls on FindN0vel</fn43ba>
Don Albert quickly responded, “Master Wade, don’t fret. My brother has promised 10 million if you can resolve the issue sessfully!”
ine, overhearing, eximed, “How much did you say?”
Don Albert repeated, “10 million!”
He continued, “But I must warn you, the conditions in the northwest are challenging. There’s often no signal, and it may take at least ten days or even half a month to get everything sorted. It’s quite arduous.”
ine chimed in, “For 10 million? I’d go to a remote tribe in Africa for ten days or half a month without a second thought!”
