“Oh, just call me Steve,” he replied quickly. “No need for formality. You’re Mr. Wade’s uncle, and I hope we can be good friends. Let’s keep it casual!”
Hom nodded, grinning. “Alright then, Steve. You can call me Hom, or my English name, Kevin.”
Steve beamed, saying, “I’m quite fluent in Chinese, so I’ll stick with Hom.”
At that moment, Charlie Wade introduced Li Yalin, stating, “Steve, this is Inspector Li Yalin. I don’t think I need to borate further, right?”
“Oh, absolutely not!” Steve replied with a smile. “Living in New York, how could I not know of Inspector Li? I’ve heard so much about you!”
With that, he reached out to shake Inspector Li’s hand.
Next, Charlie Wade pointed to Lin Wan’er beside him and introduced her, “This is my little sister, Lin Xiaowan.”
Noticing how youthful Lin Wan’er looked, Steve instinctively moved to kiss her hand. However, Charlie Wade interrupted with a chuckle, “If you’re not eighteen, I’d skip the kiss.”
Unfazed, Steve quickly withdrew his hand and said, “I didn’t realize Miss Lin was so young. If you ever visit the United States, please have Mr. Wade get in touch with me. I’ll ensure you receive an amazing wee!”
Lin Wan’er nodded politely and smiled back, saying, “Thank you, Mr. Rothschild.”
Charlie Wade then looked at Steve with curiosity, asking, “So, Steve, why aren’t you with your father on the tour? What brings you here to see me?”
Steve couldn’t hide his enthusiasm as he replied, “Mr. Wade, I’m excited to share that my father and I havee to an agreement to establish a Rothschild family office in China. This office will manage our family’s investments there. I’ll be overseeing all operations personally, and we n to invest an initial $50 billion in the first phase. I intend to set up this office in Aurous Hill!”
