Lin Wan’er (ni) had rendered Charlie speechless with her insights.
He recognized that her observations were both objective and grounded in reality.
One scenario involved a surprise attack, while the other was a feint to the east followed by a counterattack in the west.
After experiencing these two strategies, Sara would never allow herself to be caught off guard again.
At that point, if Charlie aimed to dismantle the death squad’s base, it would be exceedingly challenging to extract the remaining members of the death squad.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
This situation would force a difficult decision.
Should they strike at the headquarters of the Anti-Qing Society to eliminate its forces, regardless of the fate of the death warriors, or should they refrain from attacking the headquarters to protect the warriors and their families?
It seemed that either choice would have its own drawbacks.
Charlie then posed a question to Lin Wan’er (ni): “What if I provide them with the antidote and allow them to escape?”
Lin Wan’er (ni) sighed, responding, “These assassins have rarely lived in mainstream society. Theyck legal identities and any means of production. Even if you offer them the antidote and a chance to flee, escaping the pursuit of the Po Qing Society would be nearly impossible. If you were to give each of them some cash, that would require a massive amount—thousands of people needing multiple suitcases full of money, which is simply unrealistic. While it may be difficult for the Po Qing Society to eliminate them all, it’s likely that out of every ten, only two or three might survive.”
Charlie continued, “What if we provide them the antidote and let the local government handle the situation? Surely, they would be able to ensure these individuals’ safety.”
After some reflection, Lin Wan’er (ni) replied, “This situation would be a massive scandal in terms of national security for any nation. No government would want to keep it under wraps. Furthermore, these assassins are not citizens of those countries. I cannot guarantee that these nations would provide them shelter. The likelihood of deportation might be higher, which would only increase their risk.”
At this juncture, Lin Wan’er (ni) added, “If you were to approach this issue from a more ruthless perspective, you could enlist the help of Inspector Li. Utilizing his expertise in criminal investigations, the AI model’sputational power, and the surveince capabilities of the skyline, he could likely uncover most of the Po Qing Society’s dead soldiers. You could then pass this information to the governments of the countries where these individuals are located. As long as those governments have not been fully infiltrated by the Po Qing Society, they would surely not allow such a dangerous organization to remain on their territory. In that case, you wouldn’t need to take direct action—the governments and militaries would handle the eradication of the death soldiers’ bases.”
Charlie’s eyes widened, and he frowned, saying, “If that’s the case, the death warriors and cavalry guards would essentially be without an escape route. Once Sara decides to make sacrifices to survive, she wouldn’t even need to target the death warriors. She could simply abandon the garrison, leaving it to the local government. The death warriors would face death at the hands of the government forces if they resisted, and if they surrendered, they wouldn’t receive the antidote, leading to their demise. Even in surrendering, they wouldn’t provide any valuable intelligence to the government. After all, the only secrets they hold pertain to their garrison, which would be irrelevant once it’s destroyed.”
Charlie sighed heavily, stating, “If we proceed down this path, those death warriors and cavalry guards are ultimately doomed.”
Lin Wan’er (ni) gently nodded, exining, “The number of assassins and their families could reach tens of thousands, if not more. My lord, you must confront this harsh reality. Saving them one by one is simply not feasible.”
Charlie instinctively replied, “I understand Miss Lin’s point, but the lives of tens of thousands are at stake, and I cannot bear the thought of allowing them to perish.”<fn545a> Newest update provided by f?i?n?d?n?o?v?e?l?</fn545a>
