In the final hour before dawn, Abbas guided thest group of individuals out of the food factory. Charlie Wade instructed him to secure the gate from the outside, leaving only himself and Li Yalin in the vast facility.
Li Yalin gazed at the site, now restored to its original condition, and couldn’t help but express his thoughts: “Mr. Wade, the efficiency and execution demonstrated by these cavalry guards and death soldiers is remarkable. If I hadn’t seen it myself, I would never believe that over 10,000 people had been present here just a short while ago.”
Charlie Wade nodded, reflecting: “Their efficiency and execution have been refined over centuries of generational very.”
With a long sigh, Charlie Wade continued, “But let’s not dwell on that. Inspector Li, you’ve been busy for days on end. Take a break. I’ll keep watch and see if the factory director arrives today.”
Having worked tirelessly for several days, Li Yalin felt a wave of relief wash over him now that everyone had evacuated. He admitted to Charlie Wade, “Thank you for your hard work, Mr. Wade. I think I’ll take a quick nap.”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
“No problem at all. Sleep easy. I’ll handle everything here,” Charlie Wade assured him.
Afterward, Charlie Wade directed Li Yalin to the factory director’s office before stepping outside. He settled down under a shed that provided shelter from the rain, where he continued to perform hand seals to absorb spiritual energy while also releasing some to stay aware of his surroundings.
In the past few days, Charlie Wade had been using his free time to practice these hand seals, causing the spiritual energy within him to build up substantially. He nned to channel all this energy into the ring that Lin Wan’er (also known as ni) had given him, hoping to discover something new once he reached his limit.
As time passed, the sky began to lighten.
Li Yalin slept soundly, while Charlie Wade continued his meditation.
Before he knew it, noon had arrived.
At that moment, Charlie Wade noticed some activity in the distance—the director of the food factory had arrived.
A smile spread across Charlie Wade’s face as he made his way back to the factory and headed to the director’s office.
Meanwhile, Li Yalin had just awakened, having enjoyed a restful seven or eight hours of sleep. Upon opening the door and spotting Charlie Wade, he eagerly asked, “Mr. Wade, what’s the situation?”
“The director is here,” Charlie Wade replied with a grin.
Li Yalin raised an eyebrow, smiling as he responded, “He must be quite anxious.”
“Let’s go, Inspector Li. He might notice that the gate is locked from the outside and coulde in to investigate,” Charlie Wade suggested.<fn1eab> ?????? ???? FιndNovel</fn1eab>
“Alright,” Li Yalin agreed with a smile, and together they exited the factory, climbing over the low back wall.
At that moment, the director parked his car outside the gate, stepping out to find the gate secured from the outside, which left him puzzled.
To him, it seemed odd that even if the factory was not yet undergoing upgrades, Li Yalin would close it and leave at noon. He recalled that during theirst meeting, he had seen several of Li Yalin’s subordinates present, leading him to believe at least one person should remain on-site.
After a moment of hesitation, he pulled out his mobile phone to call Li Yalin. He remembered how, during theirst encounter, he had sensed that Li Yalin was grappling with financial issues. Li Yalin had assured him that the funding would be resolved in three to five days, yet not only had work notmenced, but Li Yalin had also left, raising his suspicions.
To his dismay, the phone number Li Yalin had provided was switched off. He called out for a considerable time but received no response, further deepening his unease.
Growing increasingly concerned, he shouted at the door, “Is anyone there? Mr. Li, are you around?” After several calls with no reply, he pounded on the lock of the fence door, banging it multiple times, yet still, there was no response from within.
The factory director couldn’t shake the feeling that something unusual was unfolding.
