Don Albert was caught off guard by Charlie Wade’s firm stance on the matter.
Although he understood that Charlie Wade had always been kind to him, as a grown man, he couldn’t help but feel a little undeserving of such generosity.
So, he said to Charlie Wade, “Master Wade, ever since I’ve known you, not only have you saved my life, but you’ve also helped me in countless ways. Heaven Springs has gained immense fame because of you, and with this foundation, everything has be much easier than before. I’m already deeply grateful—how could I possibly use that money for my own benefit?”
Charlie Wade responded sternly, “Don Albert, there’s no need to be so modest with me. What I choose to give you is, in my eyes, what you truly deserve. If it wasn’t deserved, I wouldn’t give it to you, even if you asked.”
Feeling embarrassed, Don Albert replied, “Master Wade, I understand your point. It’s like a generous boss who wants to keep giving raises to his employees, but I feel like I’ve done so little. What I’ve received so far is already more than enough—I don’t feel worthy of any more.”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
As he spoke, Don Albert recalled something Isaac Cameron had told him and said with emotion, “On top of that, Mr. Isaac mentioned that you helped clean up my less-than-glorious past. That was an incredible favor, and I haven’t even had the chance to thank you properly.”
Charlie Wade smiled and said, “Don Albert, have you ever heard ofpanies where even the cleaning staff became millionaires after thepany went public?”<fn2abe> Content originallyes from find{n}ovel</fn2abe>
Don Albert shook his head in disbelief. “Is that even possible? I’ve never heard of such a thing.”
Charlie Wade exined earnestly, “It’s not outrageous at all. The cleaning staff are employees, too. If they worked tirelessly for thepany from the beginning and stayed loyal through its growth, they’re considered veterans. Before thepany goes public, they may be allocated a portion of stock options. That’s why, once thepany goes public, even the cleaning staff can end up with a worth exceeding a million or more.”
At this point, Charlie Wade spoke again, “Of course, I’m notparing you to the cleaningdy. Over this period, you’ve been the one who has served me the most. Now that there’s a great opportunity to help you achieve your career ambitions, why wouldn’t I support you?”
Don Albert was deeply moved, and tears slipped down his cheeks. He sighed, “It’s Don Albert’s fortune to have met Master Wade.”
