Silence. My pack was unusually silent today. It was as though even the members themselves were afraid of the Alpha’s wrath.
I know why. I know how. I had ughtered Selia before the public, and everyone witnessed it.
It’s… only reasonable for them not to get on my nerves today. I had just left Luna Tahlia’s abode, and I had sent for Jurrek Bane.
We must prepare to return Young ck to where he belongs, to move Luna Tahlia from a hidden resident back into the true Luna that she is.
I walked to my bed and was about to sit when the door opened, and Isolde entered gently, her head bowed.
“M…mydy. Beta Jurrek is here to see you.”
Her voice shook, and I sighed at it. Gently, I stepped toward her, grateful when she didn’t pull away as I took her hand.
Slowly she looked up at me, almost reluctant, and I smiled softly into her face.
“Isolde,” I began quietly. “You’ve been my attendant since I was very young. There were times after I returned these past five years that I doubted you, and today I want to apologize for that. I won’t spill innocent blood. Those who died by my sword deserved it. You know this, don’t you?” <fnc> Official source is Find★Novel</fnc>
In response, she stared at me in silence, then reached to take my hand, patting it softly.
“My…mydy. You’ve been bottling up too much and carrying far more than any woman should bear. Perhaps you should… take a break, leave the burdens behind, and enjoy yourself for the first time. For once, think only of yourself, what makes you happy. Don’t you think?”
Without waiting for my reply, she walked out, leaving me in thought. Maybe it’s… time?
The door opened again, and Jurrek walked in. Staring at him, my heart clenched, and somehow the decision was made. I moved toward the bed and sat gently.
Jurrek’s eyes were on me. He didn’t speak, and I swallowed before looking at him.
“You probably think I’ve gone crazy,” I muttered, but he only smiled, surprising me.

“I thought you’d gone crazy the moment I heard you were in a rtionship with the cursed Lycan King.” He stepped closer, his smile faint and sad. “And now, I believe you’vepletely gone mad with… with what life has pushed into your possession.”
He reached for my hand, his smile dimming. I met his eyes, hearing the sigh escape him.
“She’s a spy?”
“To my aunt, and my aunt to Ka,” I murmured softly. “Ka… sold Varyn, Jurrek. To ckwater. It’splicated somehow, but once my brother wakes and steadies, he’ll break every chain of lies in every corner. The Ash Pack… will return to what it was always meant to be.”
He froze, shocked, words failing him.
“Have a carriage ready to depart tomorrow morning, Jurrek. For Luna Tahlia. Give her guards to protect her life and Young ck’s. Dead will rise tomorrow, and stolen glory will return.”

“Are you sure you won’t being with me?” I asked Blue again, but she shook her head,
certain.
“I’ll stay with Lord Varyn and brew his potion,” she replied, making me smile.
I had already prepared to ride off. I was leaving for the Lycan Kingdom. I needed to be in my man’s arms. For a thousand reasons.
The first, because I could feel his sadness through the amulet. The second, because I have to give him response to his proposal, thirdly because I couldn’t sleep without him anymore. And the rest of the thousand… because I loved him, and he loved me. I was his, and he was mine.
Blue fastened my cloak and stepped back to look at me, smiling.
“My king will look at you more than once, mydy.”
Her words made me smile, and I stepped back just as the door opened and Dessyn walked in.
“Best friend, I heard you’re going home?”
“Yeah,” I replied. “First, I’ll go to the Lycan Kingdom. Tomorrow, I’ll meet with Luna Tahlia. She’s making hereback. After that, I’ll visit White Pack to check on Father and Alpha Auedric. I’ll return afterward.”
She nodded, running her fingers through her hair in exhaustion. It showed in her face. The

I lowered my gaze, hearing her say,

“You should help me bring some clothes. Moon too. I don’t think he has any left to wear.”
“Deal.”
She smiled and walked out, leaving me to swallow hard.
After a few minutes, I headed to my carriage with Blue walking beside me. But as we passed the hall, I had to pause. Each time I bypassed his bedchamber, I lost the ability to breathe.
If I dared step into that chamber with him, I would lose everything and cry. Because he was my brother, and I had failed him for five long years.
Fleeing was the only way to stay sane. That’s why I was fleeing, into the arms of Lycannar.
I reached the carriage under the brightte–morning sky and climbed in. I had already bid farewell to Jurrek, and since I wouldn’t bete, there was no need to bid farewell to the Dusks.
I smiled at Blue, and she smiled back.
“Have fun,” she said before letting down the carriage curtain.
I sighed, leaning back in my seat, allowing myself to savor thefort of the carriage Lycannar had gifted me as we set off toward the Lycan Kingdom.
