I descended the stairs to meet the guest they said had arrived. I approached gently, stopping at the foot to stare at her after months of being ruled as dead.

My brother stood there with him, and I looked around beyond them for Zephyrine but she was nowhere to be seen.
“Your Majesty.” The Luna bowed immediately when she saw me walk in, but I didn’t respond at
once.
Instead, I watched Hades carrying young ck in his arms, the little boy fast asleep against him as though he belonged there.
“I… I apologize foring here,” Luna Tahlia began as she looked up, bowing again.
“Where is Zephyrine?” I cut her words short.
“Ah.” She sighed. “She went back to Ash Pack. Her brother is not feeling well, and she was called to return.”
Hearing this made me swallow hard. I shifted my gaze to my brother, who stared at me knowingly. Without words, our eyes met, and then I turned back to the Luna.

I smiled at that, proudly. I already knew Zephyrine was unlike anyone else, and Luna Tahlia here was no less, a strong and clever woman in her own right.
When my gaze shifted back to her, I noticed she was staring at Hades with confusion, probably wondering who he was.
“He is my older brother,” I told her, prompting her to turn to me. “His name is Hades.”
“Ah… I see.” She murmured, bowing toward Hades again. For a brief moment, I could swear I

felt an awkwardness between them, like something had happened on their way here.

“So you rode here in a carriage with Luna Tahlia?”

I paused right there, noting that something had indeed happened on their way. I was still lost in thought when my two sisters came rushing over.
“My gods, I heard what happened back in the market square outside the Lycan gates.” Serena’s voice rang as she hurried to stand before the beautiful Luna. “Are you okay?”
“Perfect. It’s hectic, standing before everyone for months now, but… I managed. I will be waiting for the notice,” she said, swallowing hard, as though whatever happened had drained her.
My sister Mearez went to take her hand, gentle as always.
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah. I’m fine… thank you.” She looked around at us all, then back at Mearez. “I don’t know if it’s okay for me to stay here until the noticees, or if I should…”
“My sister–inw says you should, so you will,” Hades cut in gently, and I nearly raised an eyebrow at how eager he sounded for her to remain.
Mearez nodded without hesitation.
“There are guest rooms near my quarters. You can stay there with your son. Come, I’ll show you so you can settle down.”
“Thank you…” Luna Tahlia murmured softly. Slowly, she turned toward me again and added, “Thank you, really.”
I didn’t speak. Atst, she turned toward Hades and reached gently for the sleeping young ck, but the moment her fingers brushed her son, he burst into tears, startling me.
It was as though he didn’t want to leave Hades. I exchanged a nce with Serena, confused, and watched as Luna Tahlia finally gathered her son into her arms despite his cries.
Flushed with embarrassment, she bowed and walked off with my sisters, leaving the dining hall to Hades and me.

Silence fell after their departure. My eyes stayed on Hades, because I had been waiting for this.
He finally turned and found me staring at him, my arms folded across my chest.
“Uh… may I know my offense, Your Majesty?” he asked, and I shot him a re.

“It looks like my own fate is brighter than yours,” he murmured, making me re again.

He sighed, looking away as he raked his fingers through his hair. Then, as if brushing it aside, he asked,
