<b>Chapter </b><b>23 </b>
“You can contact my assistant and let him know if you suffer any losses for tonight’s show,” Edward said.
The director’s eyes instantly lit up. He liked speaking to someone like Edward, who was generous and straightforward. He smiled slightly.
“We won’t suffer huge losses because of a minor incident like that. Besides, we should have considered the possibility of idents like this happening too. Ms. Emerson can join our fashion shows again once her injury is healed. I’ll always have a ce for her.”
Edward rose to his feet. He gave the director Nathan’s business card nheless. Then, he helped Sharon get up from the chair. <fn5031> Chapters first released on find?novel</fn5031>
When he noticed Sharon limping and swaying slightly, Edward picked her up in his arms again. Sharon looped her arms around Edward’s neck and leaned against his shoulder, looking rather shy.
Meanwhile, the reporters had gathered outside the exit a while ago. They managed to take photos of the pair as soon as they emerged from the building.
Sharon seemed frightened as she buried her face in Edward’s chest. (1)
Edward called out sternly, “Delete the photos. Otherwise, thepanies you’re affiliated with will face severe repercussions.”
A brief momentter, the security guards came over to help clear a path so that Edward could carry Sharon to his car. She sat in the front passenger seat.
“Edward, what do we do if they upload the photos on the inte? It’ll be problematic for you,” Sharon
said worriedly.
Instead of being concerned about how there might be scandals regarding her personal life, Sharon was worried for him. Edward stroked her hair and smiled. “You’re still so thoughtful and considerate, Sharon.”
In his opinion, Macie could neverpare to Sharon.
“I’ll have someone take care of it. Don’t worry.” Edward lowered his hand.
“I’m so sorry for causing so much trouble,” Sharon bit her bottom lip and said apologetically.
“Don’t say that. Your legs were injured because of what Macie did. You should just skip the fashion shows happening in the next few days.” Edward started the engine and drove off.
Sharon hummed in response and took out her phone. “I’ll inform the director that I need to take a few days off. I forgot to do that just now.”
Although she had said that, Sharon had actually opened her inte browser. As expected, several entertainment news articles about her had been uploaded online.
Sharon tilted her phone slightly to keep Edward from seeing the screen. Then, she instructed her assistant to spend some money on getting those news articles to be the top trending news online
and gain more exposure.
At the same time, she switched to another app and sent a text message to someone. Then, she put down
her phone.
“It’s all thanks to your help, Edward. Otherwise, the director would have harshly reprimanded me because of what happened today.” Sharon tried to find suitable topics to keep the conversation going.
“It was nothing. What matters is that you’re safe and sound,” Edward responded.
Sharon’s lips curled. The way Edward had rushed onto the stage earlier was a sign that she was still important to him. Sharon was determined to eliminate Macie, who was an obstacle to their rtionship,
as soon as possible.
Their car pulled up outside the hotel Sharon was staying at 20 minutester.
Edward was just about to open the car door for Sharon and help her get out of the car. Suddenly, a group of paparazzi appeared from behind a tree and came running toward them. The camera shes went off
nonstop.
“Move aside! Stop taking photos of us!” Edward was infuriated. It turned out that these hical reporters had even followed them all the way here.
“Stay in the car, Sharon. I’ll take you somewhere else.” Edward quickly got back into the driver’s seat.
He started the engine and sped away. In the front passenger seat, Sharon looked shaken as she circled her arms around her body. In a choked voice, she said, “How did they find out where I was staying? They
even waited outside the hotel.”
<b>“</b>You’re a model, and you’ve already achieved a certain level of fame. Naturally, those annoying reporters have their ways of tracking you down.” Edward’s expression hardened.
“Can you take me to a nearby coffee shop or somewhere I can sit and wait for a while? Once those people leave, I’ll return to the hotel.” Sharon bit her lip and pitifully asked Edward for help. “I’ll have to take up
more of your time. I’m so sorry.”
Edward replied, “You don’t have to be so courteous with me. The paparazzi probably won’t leave so soon.
They’ve already found out where you’re staying.”
