Chapter 47

Edward was focused on his phone, sending messages to get details about the auction items for tonight.

Because of his concentration, he failed to notice Sharon’s twisted, jealousy–filled expression.

After dinner, Edward drove Sharon to the auction house.

In the car, she thought to herself that Edward would surely buy something for her, too. As for whatever he got for Macie, Sharon figured that she could just take itter. Smirking slightly, she clenched her fists <fn165f> Readplete version only at Find1Novel</fn165f>

    and scoffed inwardly.

During the auction, Edward asked for her opinion, “Sharon, what do you think of this ruby ne?”

Sharon put on a smug expression upon hearing that. She had expected this. She knew that Edward wouldn’t forget about her.

“It’s beautiful. It’s vibrant yet elegant,” Sharon replied shyly, filled with anticipation.

Edward rubbed his chin andmented, “Yes, but it’s too striking. It wouldn’t suit Macie. She looks

    better in soft, muted colors.”

Sharon’s expectant expression froze. She bit her lip and clenched her fists so tightly that her nails dug into her palms.

She questioned why Edward was asking for her opinion when the ne was for Macie. She wondered

if he had truly brought her along to help pick something for Macie.

    Sharon was furious!

As more jewelry pieces were auctioned, Edward continued to ask her thoughts. She forced a smile each time, firstplimenting the piece and then saying that it wouldn’t suit Macie.

She thought that if she couldn’t have it, neither could Macie.

The only relief Sharon felt was that Edward took her advice seriously. After over an hour, he hadn’t

ced a single bid. And, naturally, he never even considered buying anything for her.

Then, the auctioneer announced, “Ladies and gentlemen, we now present tonight’s grand finale–the

    Rose Crown!”

As soon as the image appeared, the crowd’s gaze was fixed on the screen. The ne was too exquisite.

Designed in the shape of a rose, it was adorned with natural pink diamonds. Vivid but not ostentatious, it exuded a regal, princess–like elegance.

Sharon fell in love with it at first sight. However, she also knew that a final piece like this would have an astronomical starting price. And Edward hadn’t mentioned anything about buying her a gift that night.

“The bidding starts now. Opening price–eight million!” the auctioneer announced.

Sharon lifted her chin and gazed at the ne she desperately wanted to own. She held onto a sliver of

    hope.

She was confident that Edward didn’t consider getting it for her at all.

Just as she was about to drop a hint, she saw him raise his paddle.

    Her eyes lit up instantly.

There was no way Edward would give a ne this expensive to Macie, so…

“This looks nice. Macie will love it.” Edward turned to her, smiling.

Sharon didn’t utter a single word.

As the bidding war escted, Sharon clenched her teeth. Despite wishing she could tear Macie apart, she didn’t stop Edward.

She simply let him buy it. After all, it would ultimately be hers anyway.

Finally, Edward won the bid at 90 million dors. After paying on the spot, he took possession of the

    ne.

Even the air on the drive home felt sweet. He was so thrilled that he hardly noticed just how happy he was. He was practically gushing, “This should stop Macie from sulking. You have no idea how cold she’s been to me these past few days. She won’t take my calls or reply to my messages. She’s never behaved

    this way.

“I know she’s still mad about me pushing her and causing her fracture and hospitalization. But now that I’ve gotten her this gift, she should finally forgive me.”

Every sentence sounded like aint filled with frustration, but the deep affection in his voice was enough to drive Sharon insane with jealousy.

    Edward had fallen for Macie.

And he was way more in love than Sharon had thought.

“Ed, you and May have such a great rtionship. You care about her so much that you’re spending 90 million just to make her happy. I’m honestly envious.” Sharon forced a smile.
