    Meanwhile, Sharon had just woken up at home when she received Edward’s call. She was ted, thinking that he was calling to check if she had eaten breakfast. But his first words left her stunned.

    “I reconsidered. Macie will be back soon. If you two live under the same roof, conflict is inevitable. For your safety, I rented you a ce,” Edward said, his tone unreadable.


    Sharon pressed her lips together.


    She knew that Macie would never return. After all, the divorce papers had already been signed. Edward

    “That’s fine,” Edward replied. “Let me know when you’re free. I’ll take you there myself. The ce is secure and private. You won’t have to worry about paparazzi.”
