Chapter 513

Lemira was lounging in the main hall, gesturing for Zack to bring her some tea.

She took a sniff of the steaming cup, wrinkled her nose, and ced it back on the tray. "Make it again," shemanded.

Zack, swallowing his frustration, took the cup and returned to the kitchen to prepare a fresh pot. When he came back with a new cup, Lemira reached for it but recoiled as the heat stung her fingers. Annoyed, she sshed it onto Zack. "Are you trying to scald me?" she snapped.

Zack''s eyes momentarily shed with displeasure, but he quickly apologized, "I''m sorry, Ms. Lemira, it wasn''t intentional."

Lemira let out a derisiveugh, fully aware that her actions were deliberate.

Evelina, witnessing the scene, approached them. "Lemmy, Zack''s quite elderly. You could have one of the maids make your tea instead."

"Isn''t he just a servant?" Lemira retorted. "If you''re so worried about him, why don''t you do it?"

"Lemmy, you''re clearly doing this on purpose," Evelina remarked.

Caught off guard, Evelina hesitated. She certainly wasn''t about to take on the role of a servant.

Lemira chuckled coldly. "Exactly, I''m doing it on purpose. Got a problem with that? Keep it to yourself!"

Anyone or anything in the Langston household that made her ufortable was fair game for her disdain.

Evelina nced over at Asher, hoping for support, but he remained silent, pretending not to notice. This only fueled Evelina''s frustration. Wasn''t Asher supposed to be on her side?

Caspian chimed in with a mocking tone, "If you want to y the hero, why not handle Zack''s duties too? Don''t just stand there."

Evelina bit her tongue, choosing not to respond.

Lemira abruptly changed the subject. "Isn''t there a charity saleing up for the foundation? How''s the nning going?"

Evelina reluctantly replied, "It''s scheduled for the weekend."

"Give me a copy of the event n. I need to check for any areas that need improvement."

"But it''s almost the weekend. There''s no time for changes!" Evelina protested.

Lemira gave her a knowing smirk. "I''m the boss around here. If you don''t want to be responsible, you can step down now."

Evelina shot another pleading look at Asher.

Lemira cut in sharply, "Looking at him won''t help. The foundation is mine, and I call the shots."

Asher cleared his throat awkwardly. "Eve, maybe you should sit this one out to avoid any hassle."

"No way. I''ve taken on this responsibility, and I''ll see it through," Evelina replied defiantly.

    Seeing Evelina''s stubborn

determination for the charity sale, Lemira smirked internally. So greedy, she thought. Even charity money isn''t safe!

With that, Lemira retreated to her room.

A message popped up from Orion: "Is the show over?"

"Pretty much for today," Lemira replied. "Living life with no filter makes it surprisingly more refined."

She started a video call with Orion. "Check this out. This is the room my parents decorated for me."

Orion was greeted with pink walls and decor that screamed little girl''s dream His expression softened as he spoke, "You''re your parents'' little princess."

"Of course I am," Lemira said, looking around the room, feeling the love her parents had poured into it.

After chatting for a while, Evelina''s voice echoed from outside, "I brought the event n."

Lemira nced at Orion. "Gotta go."

Ending the call, she opened the door. Evelina reluctantly handed her the file. "Here it is."

Lemira flipped through the pages. "You wrote this?"

"Yep, all by myself. Asher even said it looked fine."

    "But I see

    of issues. Plenty

needs to be revised. I''ll tell you what

    needs

fixing, and it must be det

    tonight!"

    by

Evelina gritted her teeth. "Alright, tell me."

Lemira pointed out several ws, then tossed the file back at Evelina. "Get it done by tonight."

"Fine, but don''t lock your door, Lemmy. I''lle back when I''m finished."

"Sure, now get out of here."
