Chapter 311

"Let''s just leave it, Mr. Everly," Amara sighed.

Finnian took a long look at her gentle profile, his heart aching. He didn''t want to push her, so he reluctantly turned away.

Over the past few days, Amara had been experiencing more frequent bouts of morning sickness. Every couple of days, she''d find herself rushing to the bathroom.

She had joined an online group for expectant mothers and, after chatting with others, realized she was actually one of the lucky ones. Some women seemed to throw up everything they ate, only to be hungry again and start the cycle over, a miserable experience.

However, she was assured that by the second trimester, the morning sickness would likely fade, and her belly wouldn''t be too cumbersome yet, allowing her a bit more freedom. This period was often called the "honeymoon trimester."

But as the third trimester loomed, the growing belly would make moving around more challenging, and another round of difort would begin. Amara couldn''t help but think that pregnancy was truly a tough journey.

A couple of dayster, Elysia called, her voice simmering with frustration. "Today''s Jessica''s birthday, and Dorian is throwing her a party."

Amara rose from her desk, frowning. "Dorian''s throwing her a birthday party? Doesn''t her family celebrate with her?"

The Bishop family wasn''t high society in Wye, but they were well-off enough to afford a decent party on their own.

Elysia snorted. "For years now, Dorian has been the one hosting her birthday parties. I thought he''d mellow out a bit after getting married, especially since this kind of thing reflects poorly on the Hawke family. But clearly, he has no shame." Indeed, this was an awkward situation for both the Hawke and the Moon families, though it was beneficial for the Bishops. This showed just how much Dorian valued Jessica.

Amara asked quietly, "What do you n to do?"

Knowing Elysia, she wouldn''t just let this slide.

Sure enough, Elysia replied, "I want to see it for myself. Ama,e with me. I need to see just how much Dorian cares for Jessica."

Elysia''s decision was driven by a

need to confront the truth, even if it was painful: Amara considered stopping her but realized that seeing Dorian''s true colors might be better for Elysia in the long run. "Alright, I''ll go with you."

With a light workload today, Amara headed over to Elysia''s ce. They called in a makeup artist and picked out dresses fit for a birthday bash, then set off.

The party was at the Maple Hotel, a renowned five-star establishment in Wye. By

6 PM, the venue was bustling with guests.

The Bishop family alone wouldn''t have been able to attract such a crowd, but with

Dorian hosting, many prestigious guests had turned up.

Jessica, looking radiant and cheerful, flitted about like a social butterfly, with

Dorian introducing her to the distinguished guests.

Just then, the doors to the ballroom swung open once more. Two stunningly dressed women stood in the entrance, capturing everyone''s attention.

The one on the left was instantly recognizable to the crowd-Elysia, the eldest daughter of the Moon family and Dorian''s new wife.

Elysia''s striking, fierce beauty was entuated by her silver gown, exuding the aura of an unyielding queen.
