Amara furrowed her brow, wondering, "Who is this person?"

The woman noticed Amara too and gave her a scrutinizing once-over, her own brows knitting together even tighter. "Who is she?" she demanded, with an air of entitlement that made Amara squirm.

A nearby maid stepped forward cautiously, "Ma''am, this is Miss Amara."

Amara? The woman''s eyes widened as she looked Amara over again, her gaze settling on her striking face. "Wasn''t she disfigured? How does she look like this now?"

The woman''sck of tact was astonishing, and Amara felt her patience wearing thin.

The woman couldn''t fathom how Amara''s face had healed, and her eyes red with unspoken resentment. She strode towards Amara, demanding fiercely, "I saw your photo at Finn''s wedding. You had these ghastly scars, and now they''re gone?"

Amara replied coolly, "Well, they healed, didn''t they?"

Her tone was casual, clearly unfazed by the woman''s status. The woman, looking every bit the aggrieved socialite, clenched her fists and spat, "Aren''t you and Finn divorced? Why are you still hanging around the Everly estate? Have you no shame?"

That was the final straw for Amara, who was generally easygoing. Anyone else would have snapped at the first rudement, but Amara had held her ground until now.

Even the most patient person has limits, and being called shameless was hers. She retorted sharply, "You''re the one who should be

    ashamed! This is the Ever

    state

Mr. Kevin Everly is the master of this house, and he invited me here. Who are you to question that?  s

"You dare call an elder shameless?" The woman was taken aback, her expression darkening as she raised her hand to strike Amara. Amara swiftly dodged, eximing, "Ma''am, please control yourself!"  s

"Ms. Sullivan, ma''am, please don''t fight." The maid was in a panic, rushing to stand between Amara and the woman.

Turning to Amara, the maid whispered tearfully, "Ms. Sullivan, this is Mrs. Emma Everly, Finn''s mother."

Three years ago, when Amara married Finnian, his parents hadn''t attended the wedding. This was her first encounter with Emma Everly.

Amara''s gaze was icy as she addressed Emma. "What elder? If Finnian and I were still married, then sure I''d show you respect But we''re not rted anymore, so your family isn''t my family. Why do you think you''re my elder?"  s

Amara still regarded Mr. Kevin Everly as family, but in the capacity of a granddaughter, not as a granddaughter-inw.

As for everyone else, she and Finnian were divorced. His rtives were now distant strangers to her, yet Emma presumed to im authority over her. Amara wasn''t having it.

"You''ve got some nerve, showing me such disrespect!"

To Emma, Amara''s words were nothing but insolence. She was furious, shoving aside the maid to grab at Amara''s hair.

"I say I''m your elder, so I am! But you''re not part of the Everly family anymore, you get out of here, you shameless woman!"
