Chapter 546

After Thorne finished exining his reasons to Stewart and exchanged a few pleasantries, he left with Vesta.

Charlene watched quietly, not saying a single word the entire time.

Georgina''s injuries weren''t life-threatening, but her arm had sustained a severe fracture. She''d need to be kept in the hospital for a couple of days before they could schedule surgery.

Seeing that the olddy was out of danger-and that Thorne had arranged the best orthopedic team for Georgina-the Spencers finally felt at ease.

Georgina wouldn''t be waking up for a while yet. Henley turned to Thorne. "Thank you for everything today. It''s gettingte, and Vesta mentioned you have a flight tomorrow. Why don''t you head home and get some rest?"

Thorne didn''t insist. "Alright, I''ll get going then."

Henley seemed to have something more to discuss with him. "Let me walk you out."

Thorne seemed to catch his meaning and smiled. "Thanks, I appreciate it."

Once Henley and Thorne stepped out, Rhoda couldn''t help butugh. "Thorne really has done so much for Vesta and our family."

Leah nodded in agreement. "Absolutely. Honestly, we owe a lot to Vesta."

Hearing this, Vesta managed a faint smile but stayed silent.

On the surface, Thorne still treated her much as he always had. But there was no denying that he''d started paying a lot more attention to Charlely.

She couldn''t help but wonder how long Thorne''s kindness toward her wouldst.

Thinking of Charlene brought another important matter to mind.

She and Thorne had left the PrimeStar g early. At the time, Charlene''s connection to Kenton-as his student and as one of PrimeStar''s founders-hadn''t been made public yet.

By now, the g was long over. She wondered-

Immediately, she picked up her phone and searched for any news.

After a quick search, she saw that after she and Thorne left, Charlene had delivered a speech on behalf of PrimeStar. But there was not a single mention of her being Kenton''s student or a founding member.

Vesta let out a sigh of relief.

Apparently, with Georgina out of danger, the Spencers had finally rxed. Leah, too, was now scrolling through her phone.

Soon, she stumbled across news about PrimeStar.

Unlike Vesta, when Leah saw that Charlene had taken the stage as PrimeStar''s representative—skipping right over Stewart-and that Mrs. Kenton, the renowned Dr. Malvina, had warmly wrapped an arm around Charlene, practically beaming at her, Leah''s face turned an ugly shade of green.

She gritted her teeth. "That Charlene-who does she think she is?!"

Her outburst caught the attention of the rest of the Spencers. "What''s going on?"

"Charlene just gave a speech at the PrimeStar g, thanking the guests and making a whole show of it-like she really is thedy of PrimeStar. Shameless!"

The Spencers hadn''t been invited to the g, but their curiosity about the event was strong.

After watching Charlene''s speech, then seeing the video of the Kentons'' clear fondness for her, and hearing that influential people like Hector Darleen, business mogul Mr. Sullivan and even prominent politicians like Hickey all seemed to admire Charlene, the Spencers'' expressions soured.  s

The more Leah saw, the angrier she became. "Mr. Sullivan and the others are actually talking about offering Charlene a top position at their.panies-what are they th<fn4673> ???s ??????? ?s ?????? ?? F?ndNovel</fn4673>

Do they really believe she has what it takes?"

    s

Maureen and the others couldn''t believe it either.

They never expected Stewart to ce such value on Charlene-enough to let her

represent PrimeStar on such a critical night.

    Seeing Charlene basking in the

spotlight, Maureen''s eyes grew frosty. But after a moment''s

    thought, she regained her

    set in stone

yet. Things can still change. O

Charlene might look like she''s on top

    now, but..."  s

But that didn''t mean she''d stay there for long.

She didn''t finish her sentence, but everyone got the message.

Hearing this, the Spencers'' moods finally improved.

Leah huffed, "Exactly. Who knows, maybe before long that woman will get tossed aside by Stewart."

Vesta alone kept her thoughts to herself.

Just then, Henley returned. Forrest Spencer immediately asked, "So, did Thorne agree to help?"

Henley smiled. "Of course he did."

The Spencers were visibly relieved, and even Vesta felt her spirits lift a little.

The next morning, Charlene woke up, got ready for the day, and checked her phone-only to see an unread message from Thorne.

[Need to take care of some things in Golnd. Might be gone for quite a while. Can I rely on you to look after Minnie?]

Helping out with Jasmine every now and then wasn''t a problem.

    But-

With the end of their waiting period approaching, Charlene replied, [When will you be back? I don''t want to go through another cooling-off period for the divorce.]

Maybe he was already on his flight; a long time passed and Thorne never wrote back.
