My Dad Please Come 766

    Chapter 766

Halsey pulled out her phone and sent a WhatsApp message to Wendy. [Wendy, are you there?]

Wendy had just returned to Halsey’s house after performing surgery at the hospital, and she was there to pick up her bag.

Her phone buzzed with the iing WhatsApp message from Halsey.

Wendy replied, [I’m at your ce. What’s up?]

[Huge news, urgent news! I just saw Jessica at the restaurant!]

The name “Jessica” made Wendy’s delicate fingers tremble slightly. Her mind immediately shed to Stanley.

Before Wendy could respond, another message came through. [I’m at the restaurant, and Jessica says Stanley invited her here for dinner!]

    What?

Wendy froze. Stanley invited Jessica out for dinner?

Yesterday, he had promised to go to the courthouse with her to get married; today, he was dining out with Jessica. What on earth was going on?

Halsey continued, [What do you think Stanley’s up to? If he really is having dinner with Jessica today, I’m done with him! I don’t want a douchebag cousin like that.]

Wendy could sense Halsey’s fury, but kept her calm. [Go ahead and eat first.]

She put down her phone, her mind swirling with Stanley’s handsome face. Honestly, she didn’t understand what he was trying to do either.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang with a clear “ding–dong“.

Who could it be at this hour?

Wendy got up and walked over to open the door.

At the restaurant, Jessica had already finished three cups of coffee.

A waiter approached her. “Ms. Larson, would you like another cup of coffee?”

Jessica’s expression had darkened. She had been waiting here for a whole hour, but Stanley still hadn’t shown up. There wasn’t a trace of him anywhere.

The waiter suggested, “Maybe you should call Mr. Hawk and see if he’sing.”

A coldugh came from across the table. Halsey, who had been waiting with Jessica for an hour, also hadn’t seen Stanley.

“Didn’t you say Stanley invited you here? Then why hasn’t hee? You’ve been waiting for an hour already.”

Jessica’s face turned ashen. At first, she was sure Stanley woulde, and she was ready to watch Halsey get proven wrong.

But now, Stanley hadn’t appeared, and the dynamic between Jessica and Halsey was shifting.

Halsey had been waiting to see Jessica humiliated and to prove her wrong.

    It was infuriating.

Jessica’s mood soured. She red at the waiter. “What do you mean? You think Mr. Hawk isn’t </bing?”

The waiter wiped cold sweat from his forehead. “N–No, that’s not what I meant.”

Jessica’s nerves were on edge. “Don’t lie to me! It’s exactly what you meant!”

“Cut it out, Jessica!” Halseyughed, cutting her off. “Don’t make things hard for the waiter. He wasn’t implying anything. Why don’t you call Stanley yourself and see if he’sing?”

Jessica clenched her teeth. Stanley had invited herst night. Now that he had been influenced by the Heartchain Curse, he couldn’t be away from her. There was no way he wouldn’te.

“Fine,” she said sharply. “Just you wait! I’m calling him right now to make hime here!”
