Chapter <b>1008 </b>
Shaun let out a helpless sigh. Honestly, he still wanted to ask more about Calvin–but he didn’t want to ruin Halsey’s mood, so he kept it to himself.
Holding her in his arms, he asked, “You hungry?”
Halsey nodded. “Yeah, I am.”
“I’ll go make something to eat, then.”
Shaun got out of bed.
“Why don’t we just let the housekeeper cook? Don’t you have work to do?” she asked.
“From now on, I’ll be doing the cooking myself. What, you don’t like my cooking?”
Shaun was actually an amazing cook–just as good as a pro chef. Halsey nodded. “I do like it.”
That was all he needed to hear.
They say the way to a woman’s heart is through her stomach. Shaun figured he had better keep sharpening his kitchen skills.

The next morning, Halsey woke up at 7 AM.
Shaun, still lying beside her, said, “Want to sleep a little longer?”
“No, I’ve got to get to school! I haven’t been in years, and I’m a little nervous!”
Shaun sat up and looked at her anxious face. “What’s there to be nervous about?”
Back in his school days, Shaun had been a total academic star. Even when he skipped sses, he still got top marks. No one could ever knock him out of first ce.
Halsey didn’t have that kind of brainpower, so all she could do was admire him.
“Yeah, yeah, go ahead and brag,” she said. Then she pulled out a dress. “What do you think about this one?”
It was a floral dress, and when she held it up against herself, it looked super cute.
Shaun nodded. “Looks good.”
“Nope! I’ll try another one.”
She grabbed a white dress instead. “How about this one?”
After watching her try on what had to be seven or eight different dresses, Shaun finally threw back the covers and got out of bed.
“Ms. Mallin, are you going to school for sses or entering a beauty pageant? Is all this really necessary?”
He was definitely feeling a little jealous about her possibly running into Calvin again.
“You don’t get it,” Halsey said. “Looking polished and pretty is a <b>way </b>of showing respect to Anteoch University and the others<b>. </b>Don’t you want <b>me </b>to look nice?”
Shaun gently pinched her cheek. “You already look beautiful to me”
“Smooth talker! Okay<b>, </b>I’ve decided. I’m wearing the white dress!”
She slipped into <b>it</b><b>, </b>freshened up, and headed downstairs.
<b>Shaun </b>had alreadyid out a <b>full </b>breakfast on the table. <b>“</b>Come cat After this, <b>I’ll </b>drive <b>you </b>to campus<b>.</b><b>” </b>
Halsey blinked. “I can go on my own. You should head to the office.”
He had been staying by her side this whole time, but she knew thepany couldn’t run without him. He had a lot on his te.
“I’ll take you to school first. Then, I’ll head to work.”
Seeing how firm he was, Halsey didn’t push it. Shaun could be pretty stubborn–once he made up his mind, he rarely changed it.
Thirty minutester, the luxury car pulled up in front of Anteoch University.
Shaun got out and opened the passenger door. “Ms. Mallin, we’ve arrived.”
Halsey stepped out and looked at the campus with a bright smile. “Thanks for bringing me. I’ll head in now.”
Shaun nodded. “Alright.”
Halsey waved a little goodbye and walked off.
Shaun watched her go. In her white dress, with her long, ck hair flowing freely, she looked young and fresh–just like any other student at Anteoch University. Her back was slender and graceful, glowing in the morning light.
Shaun leaned against the car, lips curving into a rxed smile.
