Chapter 1988 Facing Reality
Although Heather had been driven out by her two sons, she still had a bit of money left. Therefore, she was now residing in a hotel outside town.
As soon as she returned to the hotel, she was bombarded with a series of harsh words over the phone from her two sons.
Heather had fully realized the severity of the situation, but it was toote for regrets.
"Now that Cecilia doesn''t want to see me, what am I supposed to do?"
"What else can you do? Go see her at herpany, or wait for her somewhere else. If you don''t fix this issue, we''ll cut ties with you!"
Usually, it was the children who ruined their parents, not the other way round.
Thus, James and Jonah couldn''t help but resent their mother.
Their wives even dered, "That old hag is nothing but trouble. Let her perish alone out there!"
Before she had even hung up the phone, Heather heard her daughter-inw''s curses. This time, she didn''t retort, as she had made a promise to her son.
After hanging up the phone, she felt as if all her energy had been drained away. Heather had always favored her sons over her daughter. She treated her two sons exceptionally well but was quite harsh toward Pa.
However, Pa was extremely capable. She was born beautiful and managed to be a budding star in the dance industry. In addition, she married Cecilia''s adopted father.
From a young age, Pa was subjected to unfair treatment. However, she never saw it as an issue. She often aided her family, generously supporting them with her husband''s wealth.
And so, Heather took advantage of the situation, feeling that it was only right for Cecilia to repay her now.
"Oh, how wonderful it would be if my daughter were still with me," Heather muttered.
Only then did she realize how good Pa was.
Once, when Pa fell ill, she had never visited the former.
Even when Pa passed away, Heather remarked, "There''s no way I''m going to pay my respects at my daughter''s funeral."
Heather''s regret wasn''t rooted in feeling sorry for her daughter. Rather, it stemmed from the realization that after her daughter''s death, she would no longer receive the care she used to.

fairly clear to Cecilia, and she suddenly understood how Pa could be so selfish. It appeared that the apple didn''t fall far from the tree.
Moreover, Pa was incredibly kind to Cassandra,rgely because of the ill treatment she had suffered in the past. That was why she unconditionally adored her biological daughter.
Queenie held Cecilia''s hand. "What''s in the past is in the past. Don''t overthink it."
"I know." Cecilia nodded.
"But you did really well today,"
Queenie said with a smile. "I was
worried about you, but now, I can
see that you''re quite clever. There''s
no
way anyone can take advantage of you."
Cecilia embraced her, saying, “Of course. That''s because I am your daughter.”
Just as the two shared a tender moment, Cecilia received a call from Sven.
"What is it?" she asked
Sven reported, "Magnus'' business has already gone under without us lifting a finger."
It turned out that Magnus, upon receiving the goods, was eager to sell. However,
he ended up getting tricked by someone.
If not for that, he really could have made some money.
After hearing the report, Cecilia was somewhat speechless when it came to
Magnus. "And then? Is he going to run away again?"
"That''s not it. He went back to see Denise," Sven replied.
"To see Denise? Does he still intend to take advantage of her?" Cecilia gasped in disbelief.
How could I possibly have a brother like this? He''s just so unrepentant!
Sven didn''t respond, but Cecilia reminded him, "Sven, please keep an eye out.
We absolutely cannot let him deceive Denise again."
From the messages received from Sven, Cecilia could tell that Denise was a good girl.
"Sure, don''t worry."
At that very moment, Magnus returned to the nightclub.
As soon as he arrived, he was immediately surrounded by a crowd of people.
