Chapter 201: Chapter 201 Trust

He did believe that Ji Yu certainly had the capability.
But the situation in front of him made him so worried he could hardly hold himself together.
"I trust Sister Yu, but I can’t just sit here and wait for doom to arrive. Knowing full well this matter is dangerous and yet doing nothing to prepare—that would be my fault."
He was terrified of something happening to Ji Yu.
If something did happen and it was because he stood by without acting, he would regret it for the rest of his life.
"I’m even more worried about Yu than you are, but we need to understand that no news yet means the situation isn’t critical—for now." When he had seen Ji Yu earlier, Ji Yu hadn’t even seemed anxious.
"As long as they still need Yu’s abilities, they won’t just act recklessly."
He knew this well, which was why he hadn’t thought about taking action from the start.
For a moment, Hong hesitated too. Both of them had their own thoughts, but both were thinking of Ji Yu’s wellbeing.
That’s why they wavered in such indecision.
In the end, it was Feng Qinqin who supported Gu Qixiao’s reasoning. "If Yuyu had any issues, she would definitely tell us. That day, even under those circumstances, she didn’t say anything. That must mean there’s no problem."
She had great faith in Ji Yu’s abilities.
Hong was indeed cold and indifferent toward others, but toward Ji Yu and Feng Qinqin, he truly cared.
"I understand." After hearing Feng Qinqin’s words, he responded with seriousness.
There wasn’t the slightest indication of anger.
Gu Qixiao felt helpless about the situation too. Knowing how close their rtionship was, he could only temporarily endure her approach.
"Gu Qixiao, you should focus more on Yuyu and her situation. If anything happens, we’ll act immediately. After all, this started because of me, so I definitely won’t just stand by and watch."
She was also anxious about Ji Yu’s situation.
But she still retained some rationality.
For now, they had calmed down a bit.
Meanwhile, Ji Yu seemed calm as well.
Seeing that the person’s face had mostly recovered, she showed no signs of urgency either.
"You should be very clear that your face will never return to how it was. Is there such a deep hatred between you that it led you to give up your original appearance to be like this?"
She was genuinely curious if this was something the person had done willingly.
"This is all what I want to do." There was a flicker of anger in his eyes, and it seemed there truly was a grudge against this family.
Given this, even if Ji Yu wanted to persuade him, there was nothing she could do.
"Don’t you find this exhausting?" Just the thought of it made her feel tired.
"What’s so tiring about it? I’m living happily now. Just thinking about how they’ll suffer in the end, and imagining their faces when they discover I’m not their child, makes me ecstatic." He spoke with visible excitement.
Ji Yu furrowed her brow, unable to piece together what was really happening.
Still, she knew better than to give unsolicited advice about something she hadn’t experienced herself.
Surveying the situation before her, she found herself at a loss.
"So you don’t care about your face either?"
"This face serves its purpose; I’m more than satisfied. But Doctor Ji, I’ve heard you want to ruin this n? I suggest you steer clear of meddling. This n is crucial to us." Thinking of past events, anger flickered across his face.
Ji Yu truly didn’t know how to persuade them.
At least from the current situation, they appeared united in purpose.
Ji Yu felt uncertain about the matter as well.
So she asked straightforwardly if he had any other symptoms and, upon receiving the answer, left without hesitation.
Li Yu knew Ji Yu hadn’t fully ruled out the possibility of amodating their n.
"If you can’t ept it, we won’t force you. Just make sure you don’t interfere, and we’ll pretend none of this ever happened."
He was already showing enough leniency toward Ji Yu. If this had been someone else, they would have been dealt with promptly.
"Considering the kindness you’ve shown me in the past, you can rest assured that I won’t take any further action against this. Just follow my instructions obediently, and nothing will happen."
"Is that so?" Ji Yu couldn’t fathom why he was capable of such machinations.
"Honestly, you all shouldn’t have sought me out in the first ce." Getting her involved had onlyplicated matters more, and now no one could say who was really at fault.
"I’m someone with firm boundaries. So for the things you’ve mentioned, I certainly won’t agree just like that." She understood they all had their own reasons for acting as they did.
Which was precisely why the situation was so uniquely challenging.
"Don’t you think this is far too difficult? I can’t just turn a blind eye to this, but if you can’t let it go, what do you propose we do?"
They each had their own convictions, making persuasion on either side nearly impossible.
Ji Yu had no idea how they had even joined forces. Were they not all making the situation more awkward for one another?
"You’re at a disadvantage now and in my hands, so it’s naturally up to you topromise. Ji Yu, sometimes you don’t need to think so much."
To them, these matters were no different than any others.
He let out a sigh as he looked at Ji Yu. "You stick to your beliefs, and I’ll stick to mine, so I don’t think there’s any other way to handle this."
And with that, they reached a standoff of sorts.
Neither side would pursue the matter further or try to sabotage the other. This was likely the best distance they could maintain between them.
"Ji Yu, that’s just how people are. If something can’t be resolved through persuasion, just leave it alone. Focus on doing what you need to do—no one will fault you for it." He sighed heavily, finding Ji Yu’s current state troubling.
Ji Yu didn’t know how to handle the situation either.
Her feelings were truly a mess.
"Maybe you’re right," she said.
Afterward, Ji Yu’s demeanor suggested she had utterly given up, showing no concern for whaty ahead.
But Li Yu could tell Ji Yu was merely holding it all in and that if anything were to happen, the oue would be unpredictable.
Ji Yu couldn’t be bothered to say more. If he wanted to doubt her, so be it. After all, if it could happen once, it could happen again.
Seeing Ji Yu be increasingly indifferent, Gu Qixiao, on the other hand, was growing more anxious by the minute.
Gu Qixiao had no idea how to find Ji Yu.
When he came again to look for her, the only one he found was Li Yu.
"I want to see Yu." He couldn’t stop worrying about Ji Yu’s safety.
