Chapter 202: Chapter 202: Picking Someone Up

Li Yu still seemed a bit impatient. "Why do all of you act as if I’m going to do something to Ji Yu? I absolutely disdain threatening others, let alone someone who has helped me before."
He remembered the past events clearly.
So he hoped to be friends with Ji Yu.
"As long as you don’t interfere with what I want to do, we can still be friends." He was also eager to meet Gu Qixiao. Just as those people had said, Gu Qixiao was an exceedingly capable person.
Yet, he had never seen Gu Qixiao before, so he was still curious about what kind of person he truly was.
"Gu Qixiao, I’m assuming you wouldn’t mind if I tried to find out more about you." He looked at Gu Qixiao with an indifferent smile, though he had already calcted the situation in his mind.
Ji Yu had no idea Gu Qixiao had been here.
Even less did she know about thepromise Gu Qixiao made after their conversation.
Hong only thought Gu Qixiao had gone mad.
"Have you already forgotten what Sister Yu told us before?"
"Do you want to ensure Ji Yu’s safety, or do you want us to keep helping someone we don’t even know?" When it came to matters like these, his sense of morality could be skewed. As long as the people he cared about were fine, everything else was irrelevant to him.
"You..." For a moment, Hong didn’t know how to respond, only realizing that Gu Qixiao’s words did hold some truth.
If Ji Yu ended up harmed, none of them would be content.
Yet the current situation was indeed prone to danger.
"Since you know I’m right, then don’t mention this to Yuter." His tone was icily detached.
For a moment, it was as though he had turned into someone entirely different.
Hong, who hadn’t encountered someone like this in a long time, found himself struggling to ept it.
"If you can’t ept it, that’s fine. But moving forward, you must remain silent." He was willing to take on the role of the viin, but they had to follow what he said for the next steps.
He understood that they might still resist such decisions, but he wasn’t afraid.
Just as he was about to leave, a message came in from Assistant Li.
"President Gu, there seems to be something unusual going on; Miss Song has lost her memory."
He was hesitant about this whole thing. How could someone suddenly lose their memory out of the blue?
Still, maintaining his professionalism, he decided to report the matter to Gu Qixiao and see how he intended to handle it. After all, the matter didn’t concern him directly.
"Stay there and keep an eye on things. You don’t need to report anything further to me," Gu Qixiao said, his expression indifferent and his tone cold.
For a moment, even he didn’t know what else there was to say.
He could only nce at Song Xuan and sigh, "Alright, I’ll keep watch over matters here."
Even if Song Xuan’s amnesia was feigned, it wouldn’t change the fact that she’d be unable to see Gu Qixiao in the future.
"Miss Song, you just need to focus on recovering here. Don’t have any other thoughts." Whether he was warning her or genuinely concerned about her well-being, he wasn’t sure.
Song Xuan’s face was filled with confusion, as though she couldn’t understand what was going on.
"What is this supposed to mean?"
"My superior instructed me not to report any further about your situation. From now on, I’ll be handling your matters, and I hope you won’t have any objections." He had done his best.
If this happened again, he might genuinely lose his mind.
Song Xuan lowered her gaze, masking the resentment in her eyes. She knew she had to maintain this situation to hold onto any remaining opportunity. Otherwise, there truly wouldn’t be any chance left.
Regardless of whether Gu Qixiao showed up or not, as long as she was still alive, this matter wouldn’t simply resolve itself.
Gu Qixiao wasn’t in the mood to concern himself with her situation.
Today, he nned to pick up Ji Yu.
Meanwhile, matters on Li Yu’s end had nearly been handled.
Ji Yu knew they had likely already sent the person away.
"You’re letting me leave just like this? Aren’t you worried I’ll cause trouble?"
"Even if you want to stir things up, it’s toote. The recognition ceremony is over, and anything you say afterward will just make them think you’re crazy." He smiled at Ji Yu, appearingpletely unconcerned by the situation.
Since they dared to act, it meant they had already prepared for this in advance.
"Doctor Ji, don’t dwell too much on these matters. You just need to rx and stay calm for now." He maintained a rtively cordial attitude toward Ji Yu, but she couldn’t help feeling there was something hidden she didn’t yet know.
However, before Ji Yu could ask further, she noticed Gu Qixiao not far off.
Gu Qixiao checked on Ji Yu and confirmed she wasn’t hurt before letting out a breath of relief. "Thank goodness you’re alright. Yu, if anything had happened to you, I wouldn’t know what to do."
Situations like this were truly agonizing.
Ji Yu smiled. "How could anything happen? I just feel uneasy inside. Do you know something I don’t?"
She couldn’t exin why, but she had this suspicion. Normally, she knew Gu Qixiao wouldn’t involve himself in such matters, yet this time seeing him brought additional thoughts to mind.
"What could I possibly know?" This time, Gu Qixiao lied.
He wasn’t sure how Ji Yu would react if she found out, so he could only use this approach to deal with her.
"Feng Qinqin and the others are still waiting for you to return."
"How is Qinqin doing?" Ji Yu immediately shifted her focus upon hearing about Feng Qinqin. She cared deeply about Feng Qinqin’s situation.
"She’s almost fully recovered, but still very worried about you." He knew how close Ji Yu and Feng Qinqin were.
Ji Yu becamepletely preupied with Feng Qinqin’s situation, setting aside her strange feelings without pursuing them further.
She trusted that Gu Qixiao couldn’t possibly lie to her, so she chose to believe him.
When the two of them returned, Ji Yuanzhou and Feng Qinqin were already there.
Upon seeing Ji Yu unharmed, they finally let out a sigh of relief.
"Yu, don’t get involved in such matters again. This time was far too dangerous," Ji Yuanzhou said, still anxious every time he thought about what had happened that day.
He didn’t want to feel inadequate anymore.
The incident had been caused by him, so bearing the consequences was his responsibility. But Ji Yu shouldn’t have to.
"Brother, even if you hadn’t sought me out initially, they still would havee for me. I was always their target."
Their capture was simply a venting of rage.
Ji Yu understood this, so she couldn’t find it in herself to me them. There was no need for them to feel so tense.
