Chapter 203: Chapter 203 No Need to Worry

"When ites to things like this, I’ve always been decisive. So, when he made those demands, I’d already thought through everything that would follow. You really don’t need to worry."
Ji Yu was helpless but understood their genuine concern for her.
Yet, this kind of concern only made her feel uneasy.
Ji Yuanzhou had no idea how to describe his current feelings. He understood clearly how important Ji Yu was to him.
Even if it were impossible for them to be lovers, their sibling bond would never change.
"Yu, don’t do such risky things again." He was worried about Ji Yu’s safety.
Ji Yu remained calm andposed.
"I understand." She had no intention of taking risks anymore, especially for the child. Now already three months along, Ji Yu truly couldn’t afford to take any more chances.
"Fortunately, both you and the child are fine. During this time, Gu Qixiao has been very worried about you. He’s tried several times to bring you back, but every attempt failed."
"Several times?" She seemed a little surprised and hadn’t expected Gu Qixiao to have been so persistent.
"Since I first came to see you, he wouldn’t let me meet you afterward. That’s why I’ve been so worried." He felt ufortable just thinking about what had happened before.
He was terribly afraid Ji Yu would find out, so he had no choice but to act nonchnt, as if he knew nothing.
Ji Yu increasingly felt that something was off this time. From the moment Gu Qixiao first said those words, hadn’t he considered something might be wrong?
She didn’t bring it to the surface.
But Gu Qixiao already knew Ji Yu was beginning to suspect something.
He had known all along this matter couldn’t be kept hidden.
"Yu, they’ve just slightly recovered. How about letting them rest while I take you to the hospital for a follow-up? Just to ensure there’s no troubleter."
He still couldn’t rest easy about Ji Yu’s condition.
Ji Yu also had some questions she wanted to ask Gu Qixiao, so she agreed without hesitation.
"Brother, you and Qinqin rest well. I’ll go take care of the check-up first."
The two of them left the hospital room.
At first, Ji Yu remained silent, but her conflicted expression was easy to read.
"Yu, if you have something to ask, just go ahead. I know you’re starting to doubt me."
He sighed, epting that sooner orter, the truth woulde out—it was only natural.
He was resigned to letting things fall apart.
"It’s nothing. Maybe I’ve just been too sensitivetely. After the check-up, I want to get some proper rest."
She really couldn’t continue like this.
Seeing her in this state saddened Gu Qixiao. "Yu..."
He didn’t want her to dwell on these thoughts any longer. Perhaps it’d be better to just confess everything.
"I need time to carefully reflect on things, so can we stop talking about it for now?" Her gaze at Gu Qixiao was serious, as if he had severely crossed a line.
Something in Gu Qixiao’s heart trembled.
He didn’t know how to broach the topic with Ji Yu, especially seeing her current expression. It was as if once she learned the truth, she’d inevitably leave him.
"Rest well." For now, he could only hide his thoughts.
He wanted to spend his life with Ji Yu.
During the check-up, Ji Yu appeared a bit listless.
By the end, she had even drifted off to sleep without realizing it.
Gu Qixiao had no intention of waking her. Staring at her serene, sleeping face, his mind was consumed with everything that had happened.
"Yu, I’m sorry." He truly didn’t know how to exin. For now, he decided to keep it a secret.
Even in her sleep, Ji Yu seemed to sense his unspoken apology, furrowing her brows slightly as though deeply troubled.
Gu Qixiao carried her directly back to the vi.
The next morning, Ji Yu woke up in a daze. "Where am I?"
"My house." He had wanted to bring her here, knowing she’d never been exposed to his world before.
Unexpectedly, her first reaction was to ask if his father was there.
"My dad doesn’t live with me. This is my own ce."
So, does that mean there’s no issue?
Ji Yu wasn’t sure whether to feel relieved or something else entirely.
The situation just felt awkward.
After all, she and Mr. Gu were so familiar with each other that, if they came face-to-face, keeping things a secret would be impossible.
"Do you want to meet my parents?" Gu Qixiao asked, evidently misunderstanding her meaning and trying to figure it out.
Ji Yu disyed no particr reaction. "No, I’m just worried aboutst night. If someone saw, it’d be embarrassing."
She guessed he must have carried her backst night.
Feeling a headacheing on, she rubbed her temples, suddenly not knowing how to face things moving forward.
"Gu Qixiao, if I kept something from you, would you be angry with me?"
"No." Gu Qixiao responded almost without hesitation.
Although Ji Yu had done many things that upset him in the past, the moment he saw her face, no matter what it was, it became unimportant.
Ji Yu wasn’t sure what to expect next, but the present situation was undeniablyplicated.
"Would you ever grow tired of me?" He had long wanted to ask this and now saw the perfect opportunity.
He wanted to know what Ji Yu truly felt.
Ji Yu was momentarily bewildered, unsure of what he meant.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, if I had something I had to keep from you for a while, would you be mad at me for it?" He was deeply anxious that Ji Yu would immediately talk about leaving.
Ji Yu pondered for a moment. Since Gu Qixiao had already said he wouldn’t be angry, she refrained from taking this issue too seriously.
"No, I can’t imagine being angry about something like that."
Gu Qixiao knew she was likely just agreeing because of what he’d said earlier and didn’t feel reassured at all. Still, he considered it a temporary reprieve.
"The day such a thing happens, you won’t be saying that."
"How could I not? Whatever I say, I stick to it." She was firm in her belief.
Besides, given the current circumstances, didn’t he understand?
"I think you’re overthinking. You won’t do something like that, and there’s no need to worry. If that dayes, neither of us may be able to control it."
She understood her own temper well.
