Chapter 241: Chapter 241 Ambition

"Since you’ve noticed it, I’ll just make it clear—I have feelings for Gu Qixiao. I hope you can step aside as soon as possible."
She exuded an air of great confidence, looking as though she was well-prepared for this conversation.
"So you’re here just to tell me this? Don’t you already know what kind of rtionship the two of us have? Why bother asking further?" Ji Yu had long be numb to situations like this. The nature of their rtionship was already so obvious—couldn’t they see it?
"Yu?"
Mr. Gu had only intended to sneak over to take a look at the person his son liked, curious about what kind of girl she might be. To his surprise, he unexpectedly ran into Ji Yu.
Ji Yu looked at him with some surprise as well.
"Uncle Gu, didn’t you say you had something preventing you froming today? Why show up all of a sudden?" She was initially puzzled, as Gu Qixiao had gone out of his way to exin earlier.
"It’s nothing. That son of mine didn’t want me meeting the girl he likes. I figured today was a rare opportunity and thought to myself that I had toe see what’s going on, no matter what." He felt deeply apologetic toward Ji Yu.
After all, he had gone through so much effort to bring the two of them together back then, yet he hadn’t even gotten the chance to meet her. This always weighed on his mind.
"I never expected to bump into you here like this." Mr. Gu still hoped she could be his daughter-inw, but since things hade to this, there was no need to force it further.
Ji Yu felt incredibly awkward inside but still managed to keep a smile on her face.
How could she exin it? That girl—was her.
She couldn’t possibly tell him the details of the situation between her and his son.
Anyone would feel incredibly ufortable in such a scenario.
"Yu, don’t stress about it. If you still like him, I can talk to him for you. Let him see how amazing you are—it’ll drive him crazy with regret."
"That won’t be necessary. There’s nothing between us anymore. And since we never met each other back then, there’s no need for it now either." Thinking about the past made Ji Yu want to curl her toes in embarrassment.
How could something so mortifying happen?
Mu Yurou, observing the situation unfolding before her, began to doubt whether Ji Yu had always been familiar with the Gu family.
Otherwise, how could she appear so close with the head of the Gu family?
"Yu, Uncle Gu will always see you as a daughter. If you ever need anything,e to me."
Ji Yu knew very well that he was a kind-hearted person. Back when she was starting her own business, it was his financial support that got her on her feet, and she was deeply grateful to him.
"Uncle Gu, there’s really no need for you to be so insistent. All of that was a long time ago, and I’ve already forgotten about it."
But there were some things she didn’t quite know how to say.
After everything, she and Gu Qixiao had ended up back together again. Perhaps they had met the right person at the wrong time back then, but this time, fate had brought them back together.
Exining it all clearly to their families, however, had be particrly difficult, especially after her divorce. The Ji family had been staunchly opposed to it at the time.
"Alright then, I’d better go find that troublemaker and see where he ran off to." Mr. Gu had been here for a while yet hadn’t seen his son.
But Gu Qixiao had, in fact, been called up to a room on the second floor.
Faced with the current situation, he felt utterly exasperated. "You don’t seriously think locking the two of us in the same room is going to make something happen, do you?"
Really, who would think that such a setup could achieve anything?
The more he considered it, the more impossible it seemed.
"Xiao, I just wanted to have a proper talk with you. I’m very happy my father was able to invite you here today." Ling Xia gave him a slight smile—it seemed her mental state had improved quite a bit.
"As long as you’re happy. If there’s nothing else, can I leave now?" He didn’t want to keep getting tangled up with her. Their rtionship had already been made crystal clear.
"I get it, Xiao. You don’t like me and don’t want to be with me. But I need to ask for your help with something." Without hesitation, she started taking off her clothes.
Beneath them, she was only wearing a silk nightgown.
The expression on her face was one of desperation, as if she had no other options left.
"Xiao, I really like you." She wanted to experience that exhrating joy with him, hoping that maybe, just maybe, it could win back his heart.
Looking at the scene before him, Gu Qixiao felt a headacheing on. He couldn’t fathom where she had learned such tactics, but it was clear such moves wouldn’t work on him.
"Ling Xia, look at what you’re doing right now. How can you disrespect yourself like this? Can you really live with it? What if, in the future, you meet someone you truly like? You’ll regret this."
She could have walked away from this unscathed, without any harm, but she had chosen the most disastrous path instead.
"Put your clothes back on, and let’s have a proper conversation. I know you’re probably feeling emotional right now, but don’t make rash decisions about something like this."
Once certain things were done, there was no going back.
Ling Xia looked at Gu Qixiao, her gaze resolute. "Xiao, you don’t like me because you haven’t tried being with others. I refuse to believe you don’t feel anything for me."
She was brimming with confidence in her looks and figure, hoping he would finally see her intentions.
Gu Qixiao massaged his temples. "Don’t you think what you’re doing now is testing the limits of my morality? If I really did something with you, would I still be Gu Qixiao?"
He firmly believed his heart only belonged to one person, and at this point, there was no need to continue this pointless discussion.
"Xiao, are you in there?" Mr. Gu, tipped off by a server, had tracked down the room.
Hearing no response, he quickly knocked on the door, asking if Gu Qixiao was inside.
Recognizing his father’s voice and ncing at the scene before him, Gu Qixiao’s headache worsened. If Mr. Gu saw all this, it would certainly lead to misunderstandings.
"Dad, just hold on a second, or maybe unlock the door from the outside."
He had already tried opening it himself, only to find it locked. He couldn’t get out.
Were it not for the locked door, he would have left long ago.
After all, the situation unfolding before him was far too sudden. He wasn’t ready for it and had no intention of engaging in anything with Ling Xia.
Mr. Gu’s expression darkened as he realized something must have happened inside—otherwise, his son wouldn’t say such things.
"Wait here, I’ll find out what’s going on." He wouldn’t let his son suffer quietly in that room.
Gu Qixiao, utterly exasperated, simply wanted to push the woman before him as far away as possible.
"Ling Xia, we’re just not right for each other. You should try liking someone else."
